| Don't Wigan also have links with South Wales Scorpions and Wales RL, hence as a club are extending the boundaries of RL, as perhaps recognised by this award?

| I'm as happy as anyone to take the mick out of Wigan, but I think it's hard to argue that awarding Wigan Club of the Year is some ridiculous, grievous miscarriage of justice.
The first team is obviously excellent. Their youth systems are obviously excellent. There appears to have been a push on community work including various schemes that aren't rugby related. They have had the highest attendances for a couple of years. And in the last couple of years have really pushed the marketing side.
If not Wigan, then who should have been awarded it?

| Club of the year seems to just go in a bit of a rotation. But its no bad thing to highlight some of the good community work our clubs are doing.

| Yep don't quite get the lifetime achievement awards given to 3 relatively average players who are retiring. Especially as one was banned for 2 years.
I'm not sure what Orr, Hudson and Jeffries have brought to the game that someone like Keith Senior hasn't.

| I think there should be a 'most improved player award'.... like when you were kids and there was that one kid that stunk the house out.... then one season he scored a try and made a few tackles.
Who would have got that award i wonder?

No... he was brilliant last season as well.
Maybe Higham would have got it.

| You look at the list of winners and wonder how Jack Murphy didn't nip in at the end and claim Young Player of the Year. Especially since he seems to have the same bomb-catching skills as the MOS.

You guys are about to embark on a historic final appearance in a week and may perhaps be crowned champions.
Reasons to be cheerful eh?
Apparently not
Instead you take pot shots at a young rookie from an opposition team, whose error contributed to (but did not cause) a loss against a [uchampion[/u team in a fierce playoff match.
Jack Murphy is about to embark in a career that you, yourself can only dream about yet you still chose to snipe for one reason only.
Because he plays for Wigan.
I do not want to tar all wire fans with the same brush, as there are some cracking posters on this forum who support your club.
On the other hand there are the likes of you.
The chip on your shoulder is there for all to see and you and your ilk are becoming very tedious.
Why don't you just enjoy your final eh?
You boring get

You really need to see the doctor about getting that chip taken off your shoulder lad.
I bet it really made your day when you found out stains don't have anyone in the England squad.

| To be honest I feel for Saints fans a bit, not having anyone in the England squad. Roby deserves a spot but apart from that there isnt much else for England in there.
Makinson is a good talent for the Knights maybe, and they have got a few younger players but it has got to be said, the Saints big hitters are all foreign apart from Robes.
Pretty sure that they will want to be bringing through more youngsters in the seasons to come.

| "Man of Steel" hardly fits the player that's won the award. A "Man of Steel" who had his manager complaining to the RFL that players were tackling him too hard, a "Man of Steel" that falls over at the Play The Ball when someone touches him with a fingernail, a "Man of Steel" that screams and cries at referees that don't agree with him. I've never seen anyone less like a "man of Steel". Brett Hodgson is everything that Tomkins isn't and would have fitted the award perfectly. It's probably why he has the respect of supporters from every other club in the league and Tomkins doesn't.
