The "game" is simply not big enough to warrant such a stadium.
And where would you site such a thing and what capacity would it have.

If it were 60,000 capacity, it would be used 2/3 times per year and if it were smaller that this, it wouldn't be suitable for the Grand Final or Challenge Cup Final.

just the one game though, last few games there have been double headers and big games like the world cup semi... think it would be too hard to fill the stadium for the first test v NZ , shame but true... unless the RFL can market it and sell tickets at the right price!

Nail absolutely on head here sadly. Most of the big UK media platforms will be publishing their Sporting Calendar of 2015 this week. Exactly what do we expect them to publish about this series when we have given them pretty much nothing?

The reason why Wembley is hard to fill for rugby league is not ticket prices. People in the south of England have plenty of surplus income. The main reason is the failure of the RFL to invest sufficient sums of money in advertising. The two past clashes between England and New Zealand provided highlights that are an advertising man's dream.

This failure to spend money on advertising is a failure of business acumen. It is derived from the conservative, provincial, penny pinching mentality of an accountant from Halifax.

If we price as normal then the DW and KC etc are the right way to go.

If we want to fill 35000 seats then price the tickets lower. Or say it's £20 per adult per game, make an offer of all 3 games for £35.

Maybe to make the sport look good we need to fill a 35-40k stadium by charging £10 for adults and £5 for concessions. Get people through the door and they may come back.

The only thing that accountants should do is fill in spreadsheets and play with their abacus'. They should not get anywhere near running businesses, even accountancy practices.

How do we get better half-backs who are eligible for Saaa-moa, Tong-aah and Fiji? And New Zealand too really. And obviously England.

If we have to have a game in London then I would say go for a smaller ground than Wembley. A full ground of 30-35,000 (say Craven Cottage) would look better than 40,000 people in Wembley and 50,000 empty seats around them. The key to marketing the sport to the south is a good spectacle and half empty grounds are not a good image for the sport.

I agree but it still has to be in a major stadium or we won't get as much media attention. It's why I'm tempted by the Olympic Stadium as IIRC it'll be around 60k rather than the 90k at Wembley.

My guess would be one game at Etihad/Elland Road/Old Trafford with the other two at Wigan/Hull/Hudds. It really should have been announced by now. The BBC Sport website has just done their 2015 calendar with no mention of the Autumn internationals. At a minimum, the dates (or even weekends to keep it even more general) could have been announced by now even if venues and tickets are yet to be sorted.

Its 1pm here and the context of my post was once the rfl announce venues etc, the insecure brigade will all complain that the media didn't include the test series in their 2015 sporting calendars.
the word biased is also bandied about on here, as well as agenda.......the general concensus amongst what Billy refers to as the Moonies is that "it's not fair" and "the media are all against us' when in reality, the failure of the RFL to secure venues for the 3 tests in 10 months time is indicative of the slapshod way the game is run in the UK.

Almost all the posts, on this thread at least, agree with you: the RFL is totally 5h1te at doing the basic function of its job - promoting the game of rugby league. But you just couldn't resist could you, with that naughty little last sentence!
