21k at a game in Bristol for England v NZ cant see that happening.
the 7k was great though, but the world cup was well run and tickets sold cheap

The "game" is simply not big enough to warrant such a stadium.
And where would you site such a thing and what capacity would it have.
If it were 60,000 capacity, it would be used 2/3 times per year and if it were smaller that this, it wouldn't be suitable for the Grand Final or Challenge Cup Final.

Nonsense! RL deserves to win spoty every year, should be front page news every day and is a truly national game.......the national stadium would be rammed every week if only they'd build it

£2.50 for adults.
£1.00 for juniors/retired.
£5.00 family ticket for 4.
With additional discounts via Groupon or Wowcher where they end up paying you to attend?
A pricing structure like that you mean?
Plus free beanie hats and replica shirts for everyone of course.

That's the fault of the game itself.
Still no announcement on tickets and dates for the Kiwi Test Series, [url=http://www.therfl.co.uk/news/article/30994/england-to-face-kiwis-in [udespite a promise to release such details in mid-November[/u[/url.
If the game cannot generate any of its own interest in internationals and instead treats it as an afterthought, why would anyone else's interest in it be anything other than minimal?

Nail absolutely on head here sadly. Most of the big UK media platforms will be publishing their Sporting Calendar of 2015 this week. Exactly what do we expect them to publish about this series when we have given them pretty much nothing?

The usual moronic RL moonie suspects will no doubt scream DISGRACE and accuse the national media of a conspiracy and campaign of deliberately ignoring Rugby League. BOO, HISSSS... etc.
The Independent has already published its [url=http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/2015-sporting-calendar-rugby-world-cup-wimbledon-the-ashes-tour-de-france-and-cricket-world-cup-dates-9947458.html [u2015 Sporting Calendar HERE[/u[/url and it actually does mention the Kiwi Test Series when it had no right to mention it at all given the lack of details offered by the RFL...
[i"OCTOBER
RUGBY LEAGUE England v New Zealand three-test series (dates to be confirmed)"[/i
Probably the wrong month cited for at least two of those Kiwi tests and there's only one organisation to blame for that, and it ain't the Independent newspaper.
Embarrassing.

| The reason why Wembley is hard to fill for rugby league is not ticket prices. People in the south of England have plenty of surplus income. The main reason is the failure of the RFL to invest sufficient sums of money in advertising. The two past clashes between England and New Zealand provided highlights that are an advertising man's dream.
This failure to spend money on advertising is a failure of business acumen. It is derived from the conservative, provincial, penny pinching mentality of an accountant from Halifax.

| it's the pricing thats key to filling some bigger stadiums.
If we price as normal then the DW and KC etc are the right way to go.
If we want to fill 35000 seats then price the tickets lower. Or say it's £20 per adult per game, make an offer of all 3 games for £35.
Maybe to make the sport look good we need to fill a 35-40k stadium by charging £10 for adults and £5 for concessions. Get people through the door and they may come back.

The only thing that accountants should do is fill in spreadsheets and play with their abacus'. They should not get anywhere near running businesses, even accountancy practices.

| If we have to have a game in London then I would say go for a smaller ground than Wembley. A full ground of 30-35,000 (say Craven Cottage) would look better than 40,000 people in Wembley and 50,000 empty seats around them. The key to marketing the sport to the south is a good spectacle and half empty grounds are not a good image for the sport.

I agree but it still has to be in a major stadium or we won't get as much media attention. It's why I'm tempted by the Olympic Stadium as IIRC it'll be around 60k rather than the 90k at Wembley.

| My guess would be one game at Etihad/Elland Road/Old Trafford with the other two at Wigan/Hull/Hudds. It really should have been announced by now. The BBC Sport website has just done their 2015 calendar with no mention of the Autumn internationals. At a minimum, the dates (or even weekends to keep it even more general) could have been announced by now even if venues and tickets are yet to be sorted.

Many on here would have you believe that the games lack if media coverage is down to a conspiracy managed by public schoolboy types in control of the media........i wonder what their excuse for this fiasco is? Maybe Eton college inspired global warming or harrow schools' illegal whale fishing in the south Atlantic?

Its 1pm here and the context of my post was once the rfl announce venues etc, the insecure brigade will all complain that the media didn't include the test series in their 2015 sporting calendars.
the word biased is also bandied about on here, as well as agenda.......the general concensus amongst what Billy refers to as the Moonies is that "it's not fair" and "the media are all against us' when in reality, the failure of the RFL to secure venues for the 3 tests in 10 months time is indicative of the slapshod way the game is run in the UK.
Happy New Year by the way....30 days until the auckland 9's and then the seasons start. I suspect that the Kiwi Squad for the ANZAC test later this year will be a good indicator as to the strength of the touring party you see in October/November......No coverage in the media here about the tour though.....it's a biased agenda driven conspiracy that can reach 25,000KM's apparently

| Almost all the posts, on this thread at least, agree with you: the RFL is totally 5h1te at doing the basic function of its job - promoting the game of rugby league. But you just couldn't resist could you, with that naughty little last sentence!
Anyway, Happy New Year to you too. Have you considered any new year resolutions? I'm sure the VT faithful could help out if you wanted to open it up to suggestions. Cheers!
