We were a top eight side on form since Powell took over last season. We have lost Chase but he was costly in defence and we relied on him too much, meaning teammates lost sight of what he was about to do.

There is no promotion next season. Only relegation.

Bottom two go down - next season is the last season of licensing. 2015 is when promotion returns.

If I'm honest, I don't think Widnes have recruited that well and I think they could struggle big time next season.

In reality, the bottom 4 is so open as is eighth spot it's like closing your eyes and putting your finger on a team. Bulls have a decentish squad for now and Wakey have a decent pack for now.

Salford's squad is alright in first 17 but lose some players and you're into kids who struggled last season to compete. Think they may start well but do a bit of a Bradford and possibly tail off mid-season.

Cas depends much on their defence and their halves. They certainly have the depth and team to challenge for eighth and coaching staff that have improved the place now.

KR need to see if their halves gel and they've brought in some experience in the pack but should be there or thereabouts next season.

To be fair, you could probably say same about Huddersfield. Will they be a one season wonder? Wigan have taken some hits, and Wire have lost some experience. Saints underperformed last season so can they hit the straps this time around. Leeds have a good chance of finishing top this season if they can just get some consistency.

That's brilliant. You tell someone off for predicting you to come 11th and then predict yourselves to come 5th, ahead of Warrington?

Rovers have put together a decent looking pack, but it's nothing startling. To say your three quarters are average is being kind and we don't know how Keating will go.

Fwiw I think you will make the playoffs and you have put a good squad together. But it all depends in Keating for me.

I really don't rate Betts as a coach and I think Wakey & Cas have similar standard squads but Clark will get that little bit extra out of them.

I see it as three distinct groups plus london
1 Saints, wigan, wire, hudds and leeds in any order
2 Hull, hullkr, cats, salford in any order
3 cas, wakey, bradford, widnes in any order

with london dead last, i really hope they can string some sort of a squad together capable of competing but i cant see how

My prediction, FWIW is that the game in GB will continue to lurch from crisis to crisis whilst hiding behind the success of the World Cup. SL clubs will still pay lip service to development and continue to sign 2nd rate past it, never will be players from overseas at the expense of training/ coaching local talent and providing them with a meaningful competition (like say the NSW Cup) in which to play not just as add on players for championship teams.
At the last minute a sponsor will be found for SL who will bring something to the table, but as the only candidate will be accepted.
Sky, once again, will say it's the most open exciting etc etc SL ever but who REALLY expects Cas, Widnes, HKR, Wakey, Bulls, Broncos, Salford to win either the hub cap or Grand Final?
Who expects the top 4 to be that dissimilar to last season (well done Giants for breaking the mould).

I really would love to be proved 100% wrong, with record crowds flowing to all the stadia and media attention at an all time high.

Next season looks like it could be really interesting, a lot more evenly matched sides with a few surprises to keep things on the boil.
I can't see any of the Wigan/Wire/Saints/Huddersfield/Leeds group being as dominant, add into the mix Salford/Hull/Hull KR sides that could make a mess of the big 5 and we have the prospect of a great season ahead.
