The rewards for the game of RL if it goes well are potentially unreal if we can get a foothold in NA & the risk is minimal. Also in the modern world, you need people with money and connections in the game - look at how far RU has surpassed us in 15 years. Why are you oblivious to what Eric Perez and David Argylle actually said they would bring to the table here with TWP? They said they would produce quality players quickly by grid iron player conversions and get a big NATV deal once in Superleague they would share with other clubs.

They launched the club not you....... For TWP McDermott came out recently to say that there'd be no players or TV money.

So they set their own target for growth, and admitted themselves that they had not met either. So why not accept that, why make up a load of rubbish?

Equally Mr. Perez said North America won't get a RL TV deal unless there are five North American clubs in Superleague. You can't have five North American clubs in Superleague all taking players from here because that will destroy clubs here and destroy the TV deal here that needs nine English clubs.

We know exactly what the business plan was and we know that it hasn't worked out after 4 years. Not a cent from NATV not a single decent NA pro-player. The business plan has failed - why do you think we should go on for another 20 years with it???

I just think long term for RL to overcome some pretty existential, critical issues and stay relevant then we need to do what we can to bring money into the game and expand our footprint. Perez was the company spokesman speaking on behalf of the owner David Argyle, in terms of Perez leaving Brian McDermott replaced him as the company spokesman especially when he came out late last year and on behalf of the owner Argylle admitted that TWP's targets of NA players and paying NA TV deal had not been met and would not be met. Your post is just pure trolling or alternatively ignorance of the facts, you choose.

This failed project was only promoted because the current contract between the RFL and SL does not allow SL to pick and choose who they want in until 2022, otherwise TWP would be out now as SL bosses were clear they were not wanted.I Post this for the sake of truth and clarity for others........... not for you.

I find it funny how some want to hang onto "promises" or quotes made by Toronto and then try pick a 4 year old club apart.

Why don't we just take a look closer to home regarding promises before you pick out one club.

TWP were no test for Castleford who put the cue on the Rack after 50 minutes.

You would expect that Toronto will be a little more up to speed towards the end of the season than they were for game 1 and If the Aussies just want a run out and freshen up their moves, Toronto could be the ideal opposition.
Also, I know that the plus side and Toronto aren't things that you want to see, playing Australia, THE best RL side in the world IS a great draw and one thing that Toronto have done pretty well at, is to put bums on seats and what a great chance to show off RL to a "virgin" RL nation.

Have you forgotten TWP have been barred from adding any more senior players to their small squad? So don't you think that 30 games later these lads will be far from "up to speed"?

It will be the case they'll be carrying a lot of injuries, and would be very tired at the end of the season and likely to capitulate against top class powerfull Aussie professionals who will all be fit, or they won't be picked for the tour.

Remember Toronto contain championship level lads who get SL money, but that won't make them competitive with Australia. Australia need a testing run out not a walkover, Jeez TWP were fresh when Cas shoved 24 points up them to have the game won by half time.

Are you not aware that the TWP modus operandi is to talk big, but never follow any of it up.
