I think if you havent read it, you probably shouldnt comment on it .
Though i would be interested in what you actually disagree with because it seems everyone is largely in agreement on the main point, just a couple of of people who read what they wanted me to put rather than what i did.

You may know differently Steve but surely it's the Championship club who have registered the SL players as dual reg with themselves? Otherwise if say Widnes can register someone as a Workington player then Workington could not possibly be regarded as an independent club?

I would suggest its the SL club who makes the decision, it was Widnes that made the announcement

this how betts sees it working so just like having a reserve team

I can understand that it's the SL club's decision to 'make its players available' for DR but surely only the CC club can actually register them to themselves with the RL? If not then the CC club are clearly no longer independent as their playing register is at the mercy of another team.
IMO many of the CC clubs are as bad as the SL in again going about things entirely short term. I suspect the dread of being relegated into the death league of CC1 is by far and away the major reason behind the CC clubs' thinking.

I'm sure relegation is one reason but these clubs lack the abillity to bring in revenue so these link ups reduce costs.
Clubs need less championship standard players on the books.
I think swinton have a free run with all warringtons training facilities.
The whole of batleys squad comes under huddersfields medical insurance.
I'm sure other money matters will come to light eventually.

Not sure how much the use of Warrington's training facilities will save Swinton. I'd have thought that either there'd be increased costs of travelling or they'd already got that covered in their use of the LSV.

Yes and the SL partner won't be asking for favours in return!

Such as being able to play someone on £60kpa and not only does it not cost you a bean but even if they play in all 26 league games only counts as £26k on your cap.

Who have signed a full squad?
The quality of warringtons training facillties will be well out of swintons range.Honestly its not that far from swinton to warrington.
Of course there'll be a very heavy price to pay at some point.
Yep, something like that.

So no danger of having to play 5 Warrington players very often then?

Hunslet, Workington and york to name but 3. In fact Wheels claims that York's squad is the best they've had for a long while yet they still need to (alledgedly) DR the whole of the Hull squad.

Yes, not far, 30ish mile round trip for the 1st team squad, coaches etc along the M60/62 in the evening a couple of times a week.

York have 11 Hull players dual-registered.
That number is irrelevant though, they can still play no more than 5 of them.

| Sorry jc that wasn't aimed at you. If we can't have dcs but can have loan players i doubt that thinned clubs can have loan players as well as dc...but who knows. Past caring now for junior development at the top level to be cut from 4 teams to 2 is a joke. Purely financial and the SL clubs seem to have forgotten the phrase 'for the good of the game'

Swinton will have 9 against Town. They announced 2 weeks ago that they'd signed 6 Warrington players on DR. They now claim to have signed these players permanently as Swinton players thus freeing up the 5 DR places again. Theoretically they could have 11 Warrington affiliated players in their team if you believe that the original 6 are still connected to Warrington in some way.

Yep, week 1 too.
I hold my hands up. Concede defeat. I tried my best to defend this move thinking it was for the good of the game but we haven't even kicked a ball yet and Swinton have already gone too far.
Bugger my optimism.

| Unfortunately, and some people won't like this, if the championship chairmen have no balls the fans MUST vote with their feet. Personally I won't be attending any away games where we are playing a twinned club.
