Got it working, not spectacular quality but certainly watchable. MSK/Sky should not be able to stop this channel reaching sky boxes in NI. The NRL deal is for the UK not just GB. Utter madness

Fair point but reason is probably due to how MSK is licensed, maybe GB only.

Setanta, which I think is still available in Ireland, probably has rights for all Ireland for Gaelic sports, some of which are being shown, albeit about a month late, on MSK.

Try asking the broadcaster if you can find them, or Sky.

According to SKY when we asked them yesterday the NRL will be shown on SKY sports 3 so I guess it will be inclueded as part of the sports package.

After all the hype about the NRL and how good it is I found it really disappointing in fact it sent me to sleep.

I recorded the 10 a.m. slot and the reception was fine. Wasn't it nice to have some proper commentators? It reminded me of what a load of cack the Sky clowns are!

You watched the MSK match I presume with Ray Warren et al. I settled for Andrew Voss in the Gold Coast (because I don't have Sky and Bet365 were still showing the GC V St George game.)

Really happy to watch it on the tv it is obviously better than a betting stream, but I must say for the worlds elite competition I have witnessed several one sided thrashings, today a perfect example the average knights 30-6 up at the break.

Can anyone tell me why a stand off is called a five-eighth in nrl?

When Australian's began playing RL they hadn't seen English RL and so looked more towards NZ RU where the term five-eighth came from the position being half-way between the scrum-half and the three-quarters.

Our term stand-off comes from that position standing away from the scrum.

No because the current deal is a joint deal between the two broadcasters and is for next season as well.
