I can't believe people are having a dig at the attendance. As others have said it was on SKY. That prob cost us a thousand, if not more. There were virtually no away fans. The question what does that matter? Beggars belief. Well quite a lot. From what I saw on the tv last night there were a large contingent of Wire fans there last night. Have a dig at the end of the season when our average attendance is produced, when I would expect it to be around 8k if we keep this up. Comparing a teams attendance playing another with no travelling support to a team playing a top, well supported team is frankly a pathetic attempt at point scoring.

id go along with that their was at least has many has their was for the hudds game and that was given has 6k,at time we dont help ourselves but to me the numbers were same has they have always been and the atmosphere was good again.

He didn't move towards the direction where the ball was kicked, therefore it isn't a charge down.

There is a 29 page thread regarding my club's attendance for its first home match of the season. For a rugby league town such as Castleford, against an RU strong hold such as Twickenham, I know who should be getting more stick.

Can't believe people are saying the ref was favourable towards the Cas. I have never been so utterly frustrated by a ref. He penalised us for offside and laying on yet Catalans were absolutely abysmal for getting back and wouldn't let us get up to play the ball. Absolute joke.

I have to admit, I thought the scrum decision off Sa was a wrong decision, though. About time we got something though.

As for the crowd. 4,889 as people have already said - against a side that brought about 4 fans, on SKY. Oh and another factor was that Leeds Utd were at home and given the game didn't finish till 4:55, leaving 50 mins to get out of Elland Rd and to Cas, I suspect a few thought better of it and remained in the pubs to watch the game.

i made a junior rugby game,leeds vs ipswich with cas v catalans for afters a bit of a busy day but id have settled for two wins and a draw this morning.

Yes mate. But the fact is, a lot of fans would have probably gone stuff it, we'll sit in pub and have a few beers rather than rushing to get home.

Why pay £20.00 entrance plus beer when you can sit in the pub and spend the money on roughly 7 pints.

Going by that logic nobody would bother going to watch Super League games that are being shown on Sky. Why did you go, instead of having 7 pints (assuming you did).

Because I love my club. I've paid for a ST and would never, ever miss a home game. I could have gone to the Leeds v Ipswich match, given I'm an Ipswich fan, but chose not to to see Cas.

There are people out there who have lost jobs, are living off the same wages whilst prices go up and rightly so, they are picking and choosing games.

Whilst it's not a great attendance, the same can be said for Wakey v Wire and Saints v Quins. Clubs across the board are getting reduced attendances, in some instances through no fault of their own.

What's annoying (and mildly amusing at the same time) is the fact that fans on here are now showing an 'holier than thou' attitude simply because we are top. I don't know whether it's jealousy or just because you can't criticise us for anything else at this moment in time?

We have a go at the media when they bash our sport yet all we do is rubbish it ourselves, loving chuff. ATTENDANCE talk is tedious, just go the game and take someone with you and stop moaning about it.

I couldn't care less if my team has 100,000 fans or 10 fans. The performance on the field matters the most to me. Whilst I appreciate that more fans = more money, stronger squad etc, I'd rather win games and show people what they are missing.

It rankles of pure jealousy from fans, simply because we are top of the league. They can't criticise our youth development, they can't criticise the number of foreigners, they can't criticise our onfield performance. They only moan about our stadium and number of fans.

When you build the new stadium the fans will increase and if you keep up the performances i can only see good things for Cas.

Well I know Wakefield is closer to Elland Rd than cas but it only took me 10 mins to get home after LUFC match today parked on Beeston Hill back home to Wakefield just after 5. Regarding last nights match at belle Vue we should be getting bigger crowds given the size of the City and we will get there as the club is starting to be run professionally 5k was about right and wire didn't bring many + the way we are playing and the squad we've got is only attracting the hardcore at the moment. Hopefully a few new signings for the mighty Trinity soon.

Yes, but the point I was making was that 50 mins is hardly enough to get home (possibly have tea) and get to Cas ground. Some people would have thought the warmth of a few beers, a nice meal at home and rugby on the box might have been financially more beneficial than forking out cash at Cas.

Either that or we have 2,000 males under the thumb of their other halves!

Poor crowd, but then again we haven't had every year in SL to build our crowds up have we? 2 seasons out of the top fligt cost us a few fans.

As for your crowds, get away from Twickers/Richmond area, posh lot will NEVER turn out to watch you unfortunately
