| Quote ="wrencat1873"I know this will appear as stirring the pot but, does anyone know the details of the offer that was rejected by the Administrator.
To the man on the street, surely, this offer, however poor, would have allowed a Bradford team to be "ready to play".
The liquidation appears to make the situation (regarding having a club in Bradford) much less of a certainty and with the new season almost upon us, is there a plan to start with one less club.'"
I would guess nobody would offer to buy the company as they would be buying into big liabilities. So, the administrator would be left with selling the business and certain assets. But what would they be - a bit of training kit and goodwill (for want of a better term).? So any offer I guess would be negligible, meanwhile keeping the company would presumably just run up further debts to the detriment of creditors? So liquidation would seem logical. The liquidator can always then sell the training kit, goodwill etc. to an interested buyer.

| Does anyone know if there is a specific rule regarding the 12 point deduction? I know that there are points deductions for administration, but it seems to me that this "new" club will be just that, given they will effectively have to start from scratch with no employees and no contracts in place. It seems unfair they will have to carry over points deduction from a defunct club which was previously based in the same geographic area. I would see things very differently if this were a standard flat pack administration where de facto the same club rises from the ashes of the old one, but that's not happening here, whatever club (if any) comes out of this will have a materially different basis to the defunct one.

The RFL has explained the process to seek expressions of interest to set up a new professional club in Bradford...'"
I notice they didn't mention where the club is to play, an issue which creates a major conflict of interest for the RFL. But it any case it's a bit optimistic expecting that bidders can work up a serious proposal in under a week, especially given the serous handicaps being handed out. [iUnless[/i of course the RFL knows a bid is in the wings already?

And the line from Petitt's statement about one of the negative factors towards a sale being the "quality of management information available" would suggest to me the liabilities are not actually known. So big liabilities and no actual ceiling to how high they may go. No-one in their right mind would want to get involved in that.

Yes there is one - basically the RFL can do whatever they like, with no appeal process.
RFL rules
"4.7 In the event of a member ceasing to be a member upon notice from the Company by virtue of Acquisition, Change of Control or Insolvency Event, the Board, at its absolute discretion, shall have the right to readmit the member or admit a new member as a member on any terms as it sees fit, which for the avoidance of doubt, may include financial, administrative and/or sporting sanctions. In the event of membership continuing the Board may determine that membership shall be deemed to continue to subsist as if the member had not ceased to be a member at all. The Board will from time to time set out policy for the exercise of its discretion but is not bound by such policy or precedent decided under such policy or previous policy and the Board shall be entitled to amend any policy with immediate effect.
4.8 The Board has the right (but not obligation) to stipulate in advance of an Acquisition. Change of Control or Insolvency Event, whether or not a member will be readmitted or a new member admitted in such circumstances and to stipulate what terms it will apply."
In this case, they feel they are giving an advantage to Bradford, in allowing them to stay in Championship, so need to offset that with a disadvantage - 12point penalty.

| I've followed this sorry saga for quite a while, but it's all got too murky for me now.
I could list a number of questions but I'll just ask one.
Has the club been liquidated?

Nope , not till Monday
I'm just the same , been trying to keep up but now given up , too much underhand stuff going on
A complete mess really , my vote goes on asking Barrow or a Cumbrian club to take a step up and consign a Bradford club to a 2018 start in Championship 1

I don't believe they should step right in, but I do think Rowell has a serious point, do we believe the RFL would have gone to this extent to help Sheffield?

| Well we know they once fed Sheffield in small slices to Huddersfield in order to stave off financial difficulties there so one would assume not.
Your point is a solid one - a clear case of the extraordinary lengths gone to to help Bradford that no other club would ever receive.

I view the RFLs involvement with Bradford as having walked blindly into some quicksand and the more they try to get out , the deeper they sink in

| Why not ask Sheffield to become Bradford, like American Football, and solve a few problems?
It wont solve the main one though, the games inability to truely professional and business savvy.

I agree. It would be unlikely to be considered by Sheffield even if the RFL were to propose they do it as the current Sheffield club was set up by Aston and co. in response to the original club being swallowed up by Huddersfield, thus leaving Sheffield (the city) without a club. I know they are playing in Wakefield this year but that is a short term fix until the new ground in Sheffield is ready.
