Cas do not have planning permission they only have outline permission and there's a huge difference.

Formal process, once the design is presented to the planning commitee it will be rubber stamped (council is having the new swimming pool in there), same as what will happen with wakefields

Because, unlike Cas, Wakey and Salford, Odsal is reasonably developable (and is nowhere near as poor as these three grounds).

Maybe if you took the trouble to acquaint yourself with the [url=http://www.skysports.com/tv_show/story/0,20144,12387_3459904,00.htmlfacts,[/url rather than relying on misinformed w@nkerage, you would come to understand?

That's probably because over the past 4 or 5 years Craven Park has been demonstrably improved and continues to be so.

The council are supporting both clubs in helping them get the stadia we both want, but that doesn't mean that either of us has got full planning permission yet. The difference between Wakey & Cas is that Trinity are being very open about the fact that there's still hurdles to cross where as the amount of spin Cas put on any statement gives all of your fans the impression that it's all sorted.
I know that it isn't all that long since Waystone approached Trinity to see if we would sign up as the main club at Glasshoughton because Cas were dragging their heels despite the "planning permission" being in place.

Did you get this information from the same person who told you that The only proposal that Wakefield council will be backing financially is the stadium in Thornes Park?

| Quote ="Fully"We are starting the major designs and awarding contracts out soon. We're certainly further than the other clubs.'"
Right if I take this logically.
You haven't got a design. You haven't started a design (which will inevitably take a few months once the Architects and Engineers have finalised their brief with the club and completed the design and then fine tuned their design to inevitably meet changes in the clubs requirements to layouts of the interiors or whatever). Then the documents will go out to tender which will take another 2 months or so, then the decisions on the tender will be made which is approximately another month. Assuming you've got the funding of course which means that realistically your a year away from starting work at the very least.
But with all that, your still further than most!?
You can do all you want but until you get to that stage where the job physically starts out on site your all in the same position. Before the job starts it's a damn sight easier to pull out of a job before the contractor is on board and signed his contract.

| Cas are in front of Trinity in that they have planning permission to build a stadium. That’s all. Land has also been loaned to the Wakefield Community Trust to use as a method of raising funds to develop the stadium in Stanley. Planning permission for Trinity’s stadium shouldn’t be a problem either. People who know far more then me on this subject are very confident about the project going ahead.
The only issue with Wakefield is they never get these statements out in the public spinning the news about the progress of the stadium. Cas and Wakefield have both been loaned land to use guarantee loans but only one clubs shouted about it. Fair play to them.

| For me, the interesting point here is that the RFL are setting the groundworks for possibly swapping 3 clubs out of the SL. Unlikely, but they could turn conventional wisdom of only relegating 0/1 clubs from SL on its head and drop 3 for 3. Remember, those dropped clubs could be in again the following round.

| Is anything really happening with Saints new ground? I know some clearance work has happened on the derelict site, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of activity in actually putting up a stadium considering that planning permission and funding are supposedly in place?

| this report is all good news for widnes.
i doubt cas, wakey and salford will all get their stadia in place by the time the next round of franchising comes in so widnes will take one of their spots.
cas apparently have a large hole in the financing for their stadium so its far from likely.
the most likely is saints, and even that isnt 100% certain.
common sense would say that cas and wakey pool their financial resources to finish off a stadium which both can share and guarantee both clubs SL position.
next time round the RFL should only look at stadiums in place rather than vague promises.

The last I read in the Building press was that the job was due to go out to tender in early August do depending on what type of contract they go down then you could say work could start as early as October if they have fully completed the design.
