Seriously though, any of the "expansion" sides (and I'm not even sure Catalan fall into this category), will rack up substantial financial losses in The Championship and although fans of any club sometimes believe that their side doesnt have the "fight" in them, I'm certain that the management and investors dont want to be playing Championship rugby next season.

Having said that McNamara must have a great CV writer.
He's yet to do anything as a club coach but, seems to walk into decent coaching gigs with alarming regularity.

It's more the fact he is still in post that makes me think the CEO and owners have no desire to battle to stay up.

Mitchell Cornish was all but signed for Wakefield ahead of the 2017 season, when our representatives reached out to him and his agent to cross the Ts and dot the Is they decided to do a massive U turn on the deal and completely ignore them. At the time I think we were probably used as a pawn in a big game to try and get him a better deal over in Aus, wonder if he will actually come over this time... Wonder if Salford thought the exact same

The Catalans v Salford game at magic weekend is a massive game for both clubs.

Catalans were terrible at the start of the year and badly need wins to catch up on missed points. Salford got a few unexpected wins in early season, now look dire, but could still scrape 8th place, if they manage to find a few more victories from somewhere.

Next week is a must win game for both clubs, if they hope to finish in 8th place IMO.

It will be extremely important for Catalans to beat Salford away in Newcastle. That victory can start Catalans rise to 8th place, leaving Salford, Huddersfield, Widnes and Hull KR making up the SL bottom 4. who will face the might of Toronto and the brilliance of Toulouse in the middle 8s.
