it'll take more than that.
8k for both Caravan Park games and 16,500 for the KC....the organisers have dropped their drawers instead of creating demand.
delighted to be proven wrong BTW..

People should probably wise up a bit. Fiji will be a good side and will give it to England. I fully expect us to win but it won't be a non-contest with most of the Fiji side playing in the NRL.

| I fully expect over twenty thousand to be at the KC for the Fiji game. Hull folk are notorious for buying tickets last minute, but rest assured they will. With the new stand at Craven park pushing the capacity well over eleven thousand, expect over forty thousand attending the three games in Hull.

the way the KC's designed (with the upper tier not facing the camera's) 16500 would look almost full for the TV.
that said, all of the internationals at the KC so far have been 20K+ crowds, and I think people will buy later than for the 'marquee' events such as the Opening Ceremony and Semi Finals.
Good to see that i've again got an e-mail from Orange marketing the event, you can't say the RFL aren't trying this time.

A few moaning Hull fans is not an accurate reflection of how well games will be attended in Hull. Many fans who are not regulars at either the KC or CP will be there. I would imagine at least 10k of fans going to the England games will be from outside Hull.

It's what they DON'T say that is worrying.....
Good news regarding the commercial success of the tournament, but worrying that they didn't update the media on the actual numbers of tickets sold.
Comments about the bottom level at Cardiff almost selling out, but nothing about the Wembley Double header. France v NZ being a full house in France is nothing but window dressing....and this 60% of sales from outside heartlands is utter tosh. The Season is over for 6 sets of fans.....let's hope they ramp up the marketing in the coming weeks, because if they had sold more than the 263,000 tickets (2000 rlwc) then they would have announced it at the same time as they declared they had out-sold the final from that year.
Let's hope they get the last minute rush they are banking on...

| I really hope that the majority of RL fans in Hull aren't sharing the same view as certain posters in the thread on the Hull forum. On the England game front though I see that as a responsibility of all RL fans to sell out, if it was Yawnion it would have sold out at Twickenham so we should at least be selling out a 25k stadium.

The Upper tier behind the posts is also now open at Huddersfield. I've just bought tickets in NU1.

There are a couple of areas at Huddersfield like that and Wrexham for the pool game. I have emailed the RLWC team but they haven't ensured ticketmaster change the mistake(s).

| Get the label announced as an official partner.
Five of the seven seating categories for The Final are now sold out or almost sold out, and tickets in the lower and middle tiers at the Millennium Stadium for the Opening Ceremony.

| Some ridiculous statements aimed at Hull here, absolute mecca for RL some of the best supporters about. And if attendances are seen to be a diisapointment, perhaps some other club's fans should get of their ar5es and book tickets.
It's England our national side, not points scoring against rival club's. I'll be there, and looking forward to it.

I will definitely be there and plan to take a few mates currently at Hull uni for what will be their first League game. The England v NZ game in 2011 was fantastic, anyone who chose not to go for daft reasons missed out on a brilliant evening.

Who needs enemies!
We all know McNamara is a bafoon but this World Cup needs every single rugby league fans backing. The game over here is crying out for something positive to happen and if it can't call on its own people it's time to call it quits. I'd go if McNamara picked an under 12's team.
Get behind it.

| I'll be attending as many games as possible. It'll be special to witness truly world class players and real stars of the game in action during the RLWC, particularly given that the SL competition fails to provide any such players of note.
Don't give a stuff about McNamara and even less so of the England brand.

Can you quantify 'something positive to happen'? In light of what?
It is calling to it's own people. Is everyone supposed to just blindly follow the call? Am I supposed to spend money without knowing who is being picked for England?
I'd say it was perfectly reasonable for a customer to know what they were getting before parting with their money.

| The incentive for england to win there group is to avoid a tricky semi final against more than likely New Zealand.
The incentive for Wales to win there group is to avoid going out the comp and the reward for winning there group is a quarter final with Australia or England.

Hahaha
During the 2008 World Cup down under, I was browsing in a famous RL store in Parramatta a couple of hours prior to the Ireland V Samoa game kicking off. A bus load of England fans turned up to the store. The owner of the store offered these England fans free tickets for the Ireland V Samoa game at Parramatta Stadium if they spent just $10. Most of them spent way over $10 but turned down the free tickets. I asked several of those fans why they weren't going to the game that evening and the response was... it's not England and it's not part of our official England itinerary tour.
Yep... rugby league is chocka full of fans just like that.
