It will just be a programming decision in respect of maintaining the best critical path. This is the main stand and therefore has the most fit-out work required when they top-out. So topping out on the main stand first gets the follow-on subbies into the building and away, then the steel subbie can move onto the to erecting the steel and pre-cast terrace units for the rest of the stadium. It is usual for the steel subbie to erect the pre-cast terrace units as part of their package and as they go, so this also makes the stand look more 'finished' than in reality it actual is, as this part of the stadium will probably take the same time as finishing off the rest of the ground.

They are still finishing off the ground works to the East stand and are clearly on the verge of starting erecting the steel and terrace units for the North & South stands.

Yeah, I was just going to say Saints are doing it completely different. Saints have started on both the South Stand and West Stand, with the North and East stands commencing next week. The South Stand is reasonably advanced with alot of the concrete and steel done and the West is probably a week or so behind. Obviously the South Stand is the 'main' stand so needs more work with the corporate facilities etc.

The Salford stadium looks good though and once this main stand is done the other ends will fly up as they're alot smaller and nowhere near as complex. The pics look fantastic.

Cas stadium has nothing to do with the council, in fact the council are the reason why both Wakefield & Castleford aren't already in new stadiums.

We should draw up a list of councils that have helped the RL club build a ground and ones that move heaven and earth to thwart them..cough...Bradford...cough.

Believe it or not they building just one new stand at NIB stadium in Perth and it is set to cost 52million quid!!

It can't be killing the pound as by your own figures £1 = around $1.5Aus.
Infact the currect exchange rates are as follows.
1 GBP = 1.55015 AUD
1 AUD = 0.64510 GBP.
My £1 would buy 1.5 of your shares.
Your $1 would buy 0.64 of my shares.

It's all relative though. if I earnt $10 an hour (4 pound an hour) in 2006 and I now earn $10 an hour it is worth 6.50 now. For an Aussie coming on holiday or buying goods from overseas it is brilliant! My $5000 spending money got me 2000pound last time I was back, just changed the same and got 3,300pound. That's quite a few more pints of John Smith's and chip butties!!

You get more I agree but I would never call it killing the pound as the GBP is still far stronger, Infact the GBP has been strong against most currencies for as long as I can remember.

Nope it is killing it, relative to historical rates of the two currencies. The pound is weak, the AUD is strong. If your a currency trader that is how they would rate it. It's even better against the US$, America on holiday next year!

If the AUD was so strong and the GBP so weak they would be around 1-1 , That isn't the case.
