| Hiku made Matty Russell look like a decent winger. That tells you all you need to know about the ability of the bloke.

I agree Moe.
As to his departure, my memory might be playing tricks, I'd have preferred it if he had stayed the course and I was disappointed to see him leave but don't think he left under a cloud like he'd come to us on big money, promising this, that and the other before engineering a move away and completely dropping us in it.

Probablly heading to Castleford according to reports

The trend seems to be for a loose forward / prop rather than a loose forward / stand off so, if Price is looking for someone to play at 13, that's probably the question that he'd be asking (and in Sutcliffe's case that's a no).

| We’ve 2 props of merit at Wire, we’ve some great strength along the rest of the team, that helps, but if we want to be a championship team and be able to back it up and win doubles, we need more than 2 props....which of whom are both coming to the end of their career as SL players over 30.

| Fully agree we need at least 1 good quality prop.
But who is available?
Don't think there's much on the market in terms of 'proven' props.
(Graham was never going to go anywhere other than Saints).
Don't think we have room on the quota to get a non British prop.
That suggests we then need to look in the Championship - but Hill type players are very few and far between.
Without another good prop I can't see us really being in the shout for silverware this year or next.
(This assumes Kibula and Latu don't impress SP. Dont think they've currently got anywhere near the 17 this year).
I've been wrong on more than on occasion where Wire are concerned so lets hope I am again ![ROCKS k020.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//k020.gif)

| In the last game before the lockdown Eribe Doro was in the 19 so hopefully he will get his chance very soon.
He impressed in the Reserves games and I’d love nothing more than to see him breakthrough having worked with him for the past 4 years!

My memory is that his girlfriend/partner could not settle in the UK and the club allowed him out of his contract on compassionate grounds. Definitely not 'under a cloud'. Seems to me an unlikely signing given salary cap restrictions. However, Hiku is a classy centre and he looked the part in the few games ( around ten??) he played for us. This is a guy who played in the halves for NZ at one point.

| This season will give all those players a chance to play at some point. Hopefully a few will stand out for deserved inclusion in the first team for next year.

Definitely compassionate grounds. I don't think his partner and son wanted to come over at the time so he asked to be able to return to NZ where he also has a daughter.

| No doubt Hiku was a beacon of quality during his short stay but we would have to do a proper due diligence before signing him again. If we sign him and get the deja vu bit again we could be left annoyed and exposed when he hot foots it home when an Aussie club comes in for him. Not for me.

| Either Danny was on a mission to play for every RL club registered in the UK or he had an awful lot of gear on hire purchase.

I liked the look of him a couple of years ago but then I think he suffered one or two bad injuries.
Pleased he was included before lockdown but my reservation with him would be lack of size for prop. Is that where you see him Walter?

I bumped into Peta while he was over here, and he didn't appear to be enthusiastic about being over here. Did a job on the park, but not the right fit for him, nor WRLFC.

Let's be realistic here. Nobody is swapping the likes of Auckland or Sydney for the joys of Northern England, for anything else but cash.
Is it any surprise if somebody seemed a little lacking in enthusiasm for the lifestyle of Warrington or Wigan if they have been used to Sydney?
It's a job to them, 100%. Obviously, some will embrace the different culture and climate in their own individual ways and some will enjoy it more than others, but ultimately once they have fulfilled their contracts, most will be happy to get away.

Correct. But in this case his family weren't coming over, which makes it very difficult from the word go. Hence, he stayed only for a very short time. Usually, our antipodean imports do the full contracted term, some we wish stayed longer, some we wished had never bothered. Hiku's was an unusual case, as my post indicated he didnt look like he wanted to be here, before he'd even got onto the pitch. He did the right thing for him and the club, which was a shame as he was a quality player.

| Due to lockdown/my insomnia I've watched some NRL in the last few weeks.
He's currently had his [iar53 handed to him on a plate[/i by his opposite wing/Centre for Cronulla, and it's not for the first time, as I've seen him have a few stinkers. In his defence, he did score a hattrick, the other week, but, from memory, they were "fall over tries".
When he was over a few years back, I never got to see him play, due to holiday and Saturday fixtures (God, I HATE them), but there's obviously a gulf of difference between the NRL and SL's middle 8's, so he was bound to look good, playing against poor SL/Championship players.
The worrying thing for me, is his "reluctance to be here/homesickness" issues, mentioned above. If its happened before, you can guarantee it'd happen again.
It's a big no, from me

To be honest, most of the Warriors' side is having it's backside handed to it on a weekly basis- they are not very good. They are a bottom 4 side.
Hiku is better than what we presently have in the centres. Though, admittedly, it's not a particularly high bar that's been set.

| This morning, NZ Warriors were pants. They're stuck in Australia, which doesn't help, and it makes me wonder if the same will happen to Catalans if and when SL restarts in 2020.

Has there been any word on how Catalan are going to approach the season? I assume that Toronto will continue to base themselves in Manchester but what about our French friends? The talk is that we'll not be playing in front of the public before October at the earliest which means 7 rounds plus potentially 2 Challenge Cup rounds (they've drawn Widnes in the 6th round) before then. Do they relocate to the uk for a minimum of 7 weeks (I'm sure that would go down well with the families), and have to stump up for accomodation and training facilities, or do they have to travel each week? I'm assuming that all the 'neutral' venues will be in the uk.
