| Because Toronto are already pulling in that number in the Championship so I was being conservative. In SL, they might move the odd game to a bigger stadium for all I know.
I don't understand how a Thursday night would affect the attendance for a game involving 2 teams from the same area.

It depends who is playing, what there is "on" the game and of course whether it's being televised (they usually are on a Thursday).
You're estimate for Toulouse v Catalan was impressive though
Most people, assuming that they work, finish a little earlier on Fridays but, Thursday can be a stretch.
As a Trinity fan, it's just as quick to get to your place for a game as it is to get to Leeds or Huddersfield and whether you agree or not, there are some who just cant be bothered on a Thursday and would rather watch at home or in the pub.
Not a problem for Toronto, Catalan or Toulouse, if they are at home - they always play on Saturday's and good for them

We pull in 8k pretty much every week. When teams like Leeds, Hull teams and Wakey come to town we go over that figure. Not sure why putting in Toronto over Cas makes a difference.....

It's common sense every knows Thursday attendances have always been affected. Just because it's Easter weekend makes no difference. I bet If Wigan Vs Saints was the Thursday game I bet it wouldn't of hit that figure either.
My point isn't aimed at this anyway. My point is..... The poster said Toronto would get 8k at a home game. Cas Vs Wakey attracted 10k beating his guessed figure so why put Toronto over Cas Vs Wakey.

No it didn't, it got 9k.
I put a run of the mill Toronto attendance because they have more scope to grow.
And didn't Leeds v Bradford regularly occur on Thursday and get 20k...

You said 8k..... We beat 8k.
Check averages of teams on a Thursday night to any other day. They will show a decline 100%

FTF ... "nobody is at work the next day" ????
Not being funny as I generally agree with most of your posts but what world do you live in ?
Who provides the services you use when you are not at work on bank holidays ? Bar workers, bus drivers, emergency services, shop workers, NHS etc, etc !!!

I only know that Widnes v Leigh was 5,866 as I was there in the away end.
Ore sales for Leigh were 700+ & there appeared to be approx 1200+ in our stand !
Also worthy of note regarding all games is the weather factor ! A beautiful sunny day for the majority & so you get the more occasional fans more likely to attend especially if they have a job that allows the extra days off !!!

I still don't get it?
Fans of the self described GREATEST GAME aren't prepared to book time off/take holiday days/swap shifts etc to get to games and in this case, Derby Games between sides maybe 10 or 15 miles apart, but fans of association football don't seem to have the same issues?
Easter fixtures, like Magic weekend are easily prepared for and yes, Thursday fixtures to present issues, but if (a)they are fans and (b) it is TGG, then there should be no excuse for not attending games.

| Huddersfield following against Leeds was good. Toronto do not even play at home , they are a complete waste of time for R.L . All they do is offer a retirement home to has beens and never beens

Except for Cas fans who have to travel to Catalans for a game 4 days later meaning they have to pick and choose flights to save money and/or have to save their money for that trip instead.

1/ Castleford were at Home on Friday, so there really is little excuse for not attending.
2/ The game v Catalan was announced when the fixtures came out, so if you stuck a quid in a money box every day since then you'd have had more than enough to cover flights and hotels.
3/ If you're a fan, you always find a way.....bottom half of the table Brentford v rooted to the foot of the table Ipswich in the 2nd tier on a Wednesday night got 10,039.....that's 106 below the average for Brentford all season.......Fans of other sports seem capable of turning up regularly, but RL fans, although they profess to love the Greatest Game, seem more adept at finding excuses not to attend?
Times are hard, but the reality for a fan of a Superleague side is that other than London and Catalans, there is little excuse for not at least trying to get to 9 away games a year. Some, maybe 2 will be on a Thursday, some on a Friday, but the fans of Salford and Castleford have Saturday afternoon KO's to get to this weekend, whilst Wakey, Hudds & HKR can be on the road home by 6pm at the latest on Sunday and tucked up in bed by 7pm as all three away trips are under an hour by car!
BTW. On the topic of away to Catalan. If the cost of visiting France is the equivalent of visiting the other 10 SL teams, surely as a FAN, you'd skip France and take in 10 extra games a year......
