He also didn't say that Hurrell was three saviour or the finest import, but with stats like his he is certainly not a poor player. Hurrell isn't the greatest ever centre, but he's entertaining and IMO that's what SL has been lacking. He's the sort of player you might not rate as the best but a club can build marketing around, particularly for kids.

In terms of Leeds' imports he's not as important or quality as Merrin, but which one might get a few more people to watch a game?

From a neutral point of view, I've been very impressed with Hurrell. He always looks dangerous with the ball and makes huge metres and has to be a key factor in Ash Handley's high scoring rate. I'd have him at Wire straight away, and I'm sure most fans of other clubs would say the same.

If he could sort out his defensive positioning and tendency to come up with a ball spill or 2 he would be right up there. Be interesting to see him if leeds are ever able to put in an 80 minute performance and control the middle. Average he certainly isn't though.

Leeds have had their critics this season and some just, but they've had loads returning from injuries and 3 imports to integrate. Give them more time and they'll be up there, not up to saints level yet, but give them chance. Every team with new players needs time, even if you sign the best across the park. Look at us, and Leeds in the 90s- balance of side always trumps player for player across the park. Garbutt is a big miss though, I think most of the close results would have been reversed with him taking the strain.

Get a grip man I’m a Wakefield fan who’s been posting on here for 20 years, how many of those years do you think were easy, I no we deserve a medal, you on the other hand have had it somewhat easier, sad you can’t take the rough with the smooth but then people who are spoilt usually can’t.

As for Hurrell he’s been good in a disappointing team, admittedly has his flaws (doesn’t every player) but if he was playing left centre for Warrington...Jesus it’d be scary. Vastman does seem to have a OTT bee in his bonnet about him, probably trying to convince himself and justify his preseason writing off of Hurrell.

On the other side of the coin it’s not compulsory for people to dislike him, yet you’ve seemed determined to constantly rip into Hurrell since his signing and complain about those who rate or praise him.

You might want to practise what you preach and “live with it” that others have a different view to Hurrell. So far since his signing you’ve clearly refused to accept that different view.

Any body remember that commentary by Kevin Keegan when he is trying to justify the player elbowing in the face another player because he was pulling on his shirt, and he keeps digging and digging “but he’s pulling his shirt” and all the other comentry team are like oh come on.
