Was it play on or was the clock stopped or, a penalty given for time wasting ?

There could be an issue with genuinely injured players, who would have to be dealt with prior to a scrum/ drop out or a conversion took place and in theory, at least, this is how the shot/scrum clock could be abused.

I do agree that it should both speed the game up and heavily reduce time wasting, which is good news for all of us.

Clock was stopped. I think its ref's discretion. To be fair Makinson looked to genuinely have cramp and be in a bit of pain.

The ref indicates when shot click starts n stops sonic there was a genuine injury he would not start the shot clock

He also was down prior to the Shot Clock starting

Sorry to spoil it for you, but the shot clock doesn't apply to conversions or penalty kicks at goal. In fact, they now get 1 min 20 instead of 1 min to take a kick, and time just goes off after that, they are still allowed to take the kick. Shot clock relates solely to scrums and drop outs.

They may not have a visable shot clock but club gets fined if the kicker takes more than a set amount of time (forgot the actual length of time they are allowed)

Take em a while. And when a side concedes the first shot clock penalty, well, there won't be enough tissues in the commentary box to go round.

I think the shot clock is a great concept , speeds up the game and stops blatant time wasting .

I was questioning what you were basing your opinion on? It transpires that it was your opinion from watching two games at Belle Vue, not every time the cameras weren't there, or however you phrased it, as every time the cameras weren't there, neither were you apart from your two home games against the Wire, which in my opinion is a bold statement (you even used capitals and exclamation marks) for such a small sample.

I think if a player is injured, they ask to move the player to the side of the field if it is safe to do so.

So cramp etc after a few seconds the ref will ask if he can be treated at the side. Which is what happened with Makinson who hobbled back up. Also Lomax with the bang on the cheek.

I think if it was a leg hanging off etc then they would be allowed to treat on the field

You have your opinion and think it's valid, fair enough I said it was a small sample and whether he's guilty or not these kind of things are often in the eye of the beholder an example being one man's fantastic line speed is another's offside...

I don't think he's perfect by any means and Chris Hill's biggest problem for me as a bloke who sees him week in and week out is when he gets into moaning mode with ref's, often on the back of, or as prelude to a cheap penalty instead of playing like he does for England. I don't really have him down as a guy that consistently wastes time and certainly no more than others

My thoughts exactly - we don't need a BT Sport style 'Picture-in-Picture' every time it happens.
It's easy enough to add a box on the end of the graphic, just like is done with the football with any added injury time.
