As a Rovers fan and my club being favourites to take any 'prize' for this competition, I would have to disagree. My take on it is that we were poor in SL for various reasons and finishing 10th is nothing to brag about. OK, we have beaten everyone in the middle 8's so far, but to be presented with some bit of silver will be embarrassing, lets get Salford out of the way and get working on 2016.

Agreed, a place in SL in 2016 is prize enough.

What if Leigh had finished fourth should the game have been played at L.S.V?

When the RFL devised the system should they have stipulated the venue would be dependent on facilities?

What would the advantage of finishing 4th be if that was the case? At least this way (same as the Super8 playoff semi finals) the teams finishing higher have homee advantage.

If the game was played at,say, Headingley would it get a larger crowd?. Possibly more neutrals would go?

The side finishing second does actually get a small 'memento' (also known as I can't remember whether it's a cup or a shield) in recognition of being promoted, but I've never known it to be presented on the field or owt.

There is home advantage for the club that finishes 4th, it's not too hard to understand.
Plus, it's not exactly the Grand Final
