| Soon as Leigh turned on the niggle, Wakefield's backsides fell out.
Few of those players should be down the Job Centre tomorrow morning, really don't have the bottle to be professional RL players.

| Turning point for me was Kirmond being sin binned. Wakefield lost their way after that. Whilst you have to stand up to the aggression from Leigh, I have no idea what Kirmond was doing.

| Wakefield just rolled over and got their tummies tickled. No mental strength whatsoever.
They were walking up the field first half and running away with the game by playing simple, focussed rugby. As soon as a little niggle came from Leigh, and they started feeling a bit of pressure they hid.
That 2nd half performance was as bad as HKR v Wigan a few weeks ago. Id be surprised if the win a game with any real meaning for the rest of the year.

Wakey had their fair share of niggly players today. Kirmond especially

| Leigh are masters of the niggle. Because they are able to do it without getting caught and are able to sucker teams into playing the game their way. They start niggling at sides and as soon as the other side niggles back and losing their shape, Leigh start throwing the ball around. It was exactly the same story first game of the season vs Bradford. Bradford were playing well then got dragged into a scrapping contest and while the Bulls were looking to settle scores, Leigh scored plenty of their own.

| Not even a little bit of praise for Leigh winning the second half away from home 30-6 and scoring some great tries into the bargain? I had low expectations of the VT but you guys are something else.

| It seems not. Leigh learnt a sharp lesson in that first half: complete like that and you won't beat anyone. If they'd given that kind of start to any of the top SL sides, the game would have been all over at half-time. Still, that said, Leigh showed plenty of spark in attack in the second half to prove they can rack up points if they get down the right end of the field and get the ball in hand. Their halves were both good, and the two 40/20s were crucial.

| Leigh are good enough to get into SL but currently not good enough to stay there. Once again they will have to fill the team with journeymen, 2nd rate crocked oceanic's etc. and realise that pace is needed in all areas.
Hopefully they have been scouting the local amateur talent, championship and running a development scheme to bring through the players they will undoubtedly need to maintain a grip on SL.
One thing they have though, is the way they play the game, and that will cause a few furrowed brows in the opposition who are coached in patterns and struggle with defensive thinking against freestyle techniques.
Should be fun

| Full credit to Leigh. 25 in a row? Just get yoursens promoted, hell its deserved. I certainly wouldn't fancy playing Leigh now with their confidence. I was Salford Leigh and thought Leigh were poor (set completion). And people say they were poor today....god help the opposition when they put 80 minutes together...

Considering Leigh have just gone full time, and spend half the money of SL clubs, not quite sure what you're expecting. What Leigh have achieved with their level of funding is pretty impressive.
Unless Webster walks (Waky can't afford to sack him) I think Wakey are done, that was a must win for them IMHO at home, against a team who will be battling them for a SL place, virtually full strength and a chance to stop the rot, losing that I'm not sure how they will recover.

Agreed mapleleyther, some proper bitter fans on here, but guess this is the Superleague terrace after all. if we got to the final (yeah i know ) some fans would still be saying "you've no chance of winning it !!!

| There's some proper class on show at Leigh and they seem to have the right attitude. Brierly already looks like a SL #7 with the amount of whinging he does. Don't think he put his arms by his side that second half. The lad can play too. One thing I will say, almost the entire team is lacking in size. I think that will truly be the difference between them and Wire, not the skill, because they clearly have in abundance.

| Even if we beat wire the same people will still be whinging and giving them no credit.
Just to pick up on a couple of things, of course we will have to strengthen if we get to SL but our funding will increase by 800k, so that won't be a problem.
Spegs your opening post on the Leigh board is a classic I've just made a tit of myself post, but its ok I know you'll have an answer in defence you bitter bitter person.

| I was there today and for all those knocking Leigh I can honestly say they out-supported, out-shouted, out-enthused, out-thought, out-coached, out-played and out-fought an absolutely diabolic Wakefield shower who are currently likened to half dead road kill waiting for the next car to run us over and finish us off, and that goes for the board, coaching staff, players and fans.

Bitter? Why would I be bitter? Leigh did exceptionally well to come back in an extremely average game contested by the 12th and 13th best teams in the Country.

| Leigh were appalling 1st half. Apparently a completion rate of below 50% which is unforgivable. Gave Wakey so much ball in our half! 2nd half we had no pressure on us as we looked dead and buried. When we smartened up and played like we usually do we got a roll on and pulled off an unlikely comeback. Great win and outnumbered Wakey at their own ground, bring on Wire

You were bitter enough to start a thread 'gloating' on our board at half time. Probably should have waited for the full 80 before making a tit of yourself

| Gotta give some credit to Leigh. It's refreshing to see a team happy to throw the ball around and take a few risks, rather than focus the majority of their play on robotic completion rates and territory like most SL clubs.
Whether this playing style would be a success in the top flight on a weekly basis is another story however it's not done them too badly so far.

| 25 wins in a row says we aren't too bad. We wouldn't expect to be top 8 if we got into SL, but we'd back ourselves to get into the top half of the Middle 8's.
We don't need to sign journeymen next season (hock hasn't set the world on fire this season!). We have a solid base to build from. if - and it's a big if- we go up this year and manage to stay there next season, the extra funding would give us the backing we need to grow and make a go of it.
Whatever happens, we will enjoy it while it lasts!

| Bizarre to read talk of Leigh's "niggle" considering Kirmond threw three punches at Kay before Kay even reacted! Forwards picking fights with wingers, not exactly the conduct to expect from a captain.
Must admit I feared the worst at 22-0, but it was all pretty similar to our game against Bradford earlier in the season.
I'll treasure the memory of seeing the joy on the face of my 7 year old's son at full time. People can talk all they like about structures, marketing and the like, but it's moments like that that make kids fall in love with our game.

| What specifically are referring to when they suggest Leigh started to get niggly in second half - Genuinely would like to know. Thought the tone was set when Hopkins made the break, which led to ankle tap on Goulden during first set of second half. Then an offload finally came off to send Kay off, and he took three knocks to the head in incident that led to the sin bins.
Thought it was more a case of Leigh running harder and more direct, while Wakefield probably thought it was job done. Then got some momentum, which was only broken temporarily by a close call with video ref.

It was when Leigh started completing sets that they dominated and won the game.
