Anti-siphoning laws only apply to games involving the senior Australian team but they don't apply here anyhow because 7MATE is a free-to-air broadcasting channel which has secured the rights ahead of any Pay TV networks. The Seven Network has also announced that all WC games shall be televised on it's minority 7MATE channel.
Despite RLWC2013 Tournament Director Nigel Wood and his compellingly overblown statement that [url=http://au.sports.yahoo.com/league/news/article/-/17714580/seven-secures-rugby-league-world-cup-2013/"The tournament now has a compelling broadcast offer in both hemispheres"[/url, it's rather disturbing news IMO that all WC games in Australia are to be shown on a minority interest blokes channel, whilst in the UK, they are all to be shown on the minority interest Premier Sports, apart from a handful of England games and the final to be shown on the BBC. Add in the lack of WC sponsorship thus far and it's clear we have fools running the operation. |

There might be the odd negative comment thrown around but I imagine the real RL lovers will turn up. I haven't got my ticket for the Shay match yet but I have ordered 3 for the Wembley double-header. Even if every Fax fan turned up that's still only 1,500 on the gate. That's how thin on the ground we are now. We have applied to the WWF to get ourselves on the endangered species list  |

Just the Wembley Stadium double header which is very convenient as we also have the Queens of the Stone Age gig at Wembley Arena that very same evening. What a day it should be! I wouldn't mind watching some PNG games but it is too expensive to keep travelling north with 300 mile round trips.

Four of us going from Southampton to Cardiff, and then going back to Urmsterdam and taking the family to the final. Aiming to try and get to Wembley and maybe the Bristol one (if that's still going ahead).
Can't wait, only seen one match in the flesh this season and that was the dire London v Widnes.

| Heads up for anyone who might have missed it in the other thread. Using the code "100DAYS", all tickets (at least all the ones I've tried it with) appear to be half price.
Just added tickets to PNG v SAM, ENG v FIJ and TON v ITA to my collection using it.
Only probably with not buying all my tickets in one big go is I've spent about £20 total in postage because you have to pay for it per transaction. |
