Good point. We moan about the quality of the bloke coaching England but he's infinitely more credible than the coach of France!

1-Westwood- He scared them to death in attack and defence.
2-Myler- Good to see him taking the line on. Never in a million years can I understand how McGuire got in ahead of Myler or Brough.
3- Charnley- He's a cracking prospect. He just looks like he loves playing the game and shows a great attitude.
Mentions also for Houghton and Mossop.

I can quite easily. Perhaps if you weren't so blinkered you'd understand. Classic Wigan fan of recent times.

Not blinkered at all mate. He deserved a spot last year and I'd have started him at 6 if it wasn't for his injury. I've watched him a good few times since he's come back especially in big games (I was at both Leeds finals) and he hasn't been playing that well IMO.
Don't take things so personally. IMO Danny Brough has had a better year and Myler is a bit like McGuire only younger, fresher and in better form.

| Westwood and Myler had great games. Charnley also did well to grab two tries. Wasn't expecting him to kick goals though

| France were appalling, Ferriol apart they just didn't show up, Fakir had a couple of strong runs in the first half and that was about it, given how strong the side appeared on paper it has to be considered a worry the way they are not progressing whatsoever, motivation seemed to be lacking - at one point midway through the second half a French player practically chased after their water carrier to ask how long was left, and it didn't seem to be an enquiry leading to a big last push to get back in the game.
As others have said Westwood, Myler and Charnley stood out for the Knights - Ratchford impressed intermittently too, the Knights played some good stuff at times.

You'd probably have to blame the coach for that. It does seem strange that France have been completely unable to perform at international level given that the talent pool has massively increased. They always seem to display a similar attitude to the football side in the 2010 World Cup.

That coach has apparently offered his resignation tonight , citing almost a conflict of interest between the Catalans management and the French Federation
He is also rumoured to be a possible new coach at Leigh

Or Rochdale's old coach.

I agree, probables versus possibles would have more bite than this hollow contest.
I would expect a higher attendance too, with more club teams being represented.

Nah, it'd be like a training session - all going easy on each other, trying not to get injured, etc.

| Is there really any point in England playing France next week?
It will be such a no contest that there'll be very little gained from the game thereby making the risk reward equation too lopsided.
Should we lose James Roby or another key player to injury in a meaningless 70 point thrashing of France it will be a travesty.
France need to accept Gouldings offer to resign and appoint someone who the players respect and relate to.

| Bobbie goulding was always a bad idea. Beyond his playing ability back in the day Ive never heard him spoken of as anything other than an ignorant, thuggish git. And have seen his exploits around widnes pubs at weekends several times myself. Most people who dont even know him first hand around here have nothing but contempt for him, never mind the players he actually has to work with.

| Last minute we decided to come over from sunny east hull, thought Westwood stood head and shoulders (not the hair product) above anyone on the pitch by a mile.
Thought Ratchford had a decent game and Charnley proved again how dangerous he can be and will be pushing for full England honours.
Not sure how to take Myler as i dont see him play often at all; just seems to try too hard and leaves me expecting more - he looks like he always seems to take the wrong options and missed a fair few chances to offload and put a player through into a gap thats there and tries to do it himself. Also seems like he just hasnt got that natural leadership ability and seems very reserved when he should be the loudest voice on the pitch directing the team.
PS. we were the ones with the 'HULL KR ON TOUR' flag up.

| Predictably people are blaming BG for the French teams shortcoming's. They are probably the same people who blamed John Monie after the World cup too. conveniently forgetting that the key players for the French club aren't available for the national team. If Bobbie has done one thing its restore some pride in the French shirt and got a number of the lads back onside, its a shame the Catalan club don't feel the same as its playing staff.
People are quickly forgetting that Bobbie took the French boys to some credible results in the 4N last time.
Either way it looks as if the BG doom mongers will have to wait as he has now revoked his desision to resign.

| Agree with what has been said about the players and the French performance.
The crowd disapointed me. Warrington, Wigan, Saints, among many other Championship clubs all within 25mins of the ground that were only charging £3 entry. Car parking was free for those that could fit in although due to roadworks just outside the ground did delay getting away from the ground by about half an hour. Think when we travelled an hour and a half to support the England lads and give a bit of support to Kris Welham and Liam Watts it wouldn't have been much of an effort for some of the others that live much much closer.
I was impressed with Ratchford at full back, took the high ball effortlessly and his kick returns were as solid as any other options. Not as dangerous in attack as Tomkins obviously but wouldn't let anyone down if called up.
There certainly didn't seem to be a director on the pitch. Someone needed to keep the side playing to the game plan but it looked like they went away from it quite a bit.
I will start by saying that I thought Kris Welham made good yards going forward especially out of his own half, was unlucky not to get to a little kick through for the first try and then a bit later when Myler made the wrong option not to pass to him in open space. However I did think when he was without the ball he looked a bit lathargic and tired. Liam Watts was strong in the tackle often taking 4 French to get him down and with a bit more confidence in the players around him he could have easily got offloads out.
Pretty disapointed in Westermans performance out there, if Phil Clarke is right and he's going to be a man of steel at least once in his career then he is going to have to improve to even be worthy of lacing up Paul Sculthorpes boots! Not having a dig about a Hull player as I thought Danny Houghton was also very good and could easily be in the first team. Just think as he was chosen as captain and is a known play maker he should have given his side a bit more direction out there.
Oh and the reason I chose to go to this Knights game is because I may not get the chance to go to the England games due to us having a Kiwi in the side. I accept Heighington as he has and English father and think that is perfectly acceptable but for a person who's self professed that he's always wanted to play for the Kiwi's he should not be in the side and unless he is dropped from the 17 I will not be going to any of the games.

Have to agree with Keith, pointless game. Out of interest if we lose to Wales, and they have a stormer in the comp do they get into the 4 nations next year and we have to play Europe to gain a spot. Know it ain't gonna happen just interested

If you don't know it's on, you're not going to turn up.
Worst publicity surrounding an international game I've ever not heard of.
