the funny thing is if cas get their ground sorted and widnes replace wakey, odsal will probably be the worst ground in SL.
the way its going you can see all the heartland clubs getting at least 10,000 each week which would be massive.
and hopefully the big clubs like wigan and hull going for 20,000.

If we could just get a foothold in London and Wales we could be looking at a hugely successful Super League. Cats have been great, we could just do with a couple of Richard Bransons or Russell Crowes to get involved. I still think the RFL should give Barry Hearn a call.

| 1. wakey out, replaced by widnes - widnes will get bigger crowds
2. cas - pressure to finish new ground, will result in crowd increases of 3000 - 5000
3. salford - construction of ground commenced, crowds will double
4. st helens - construction of ground to commence, crowds will rise by up to 5000
5. hull kr - pressure to keep up with other SL clubs and retain SL status has seen almost 1 million pounds in ground improvements leading to bigger crowds
6. bradford - stability in SL sees them reducing season ticket prices and 10,000 stholders
franchising means clubs have to keep improving in all areas, especially if theres a better club in the champ. waiting to get in.

Ah yes, easy to mock but Quins are the team who have consistantly fielded the most "British 17 all season" unlike 80% of SL teams who are packed with 2nd rate Aussies, hence the National team being so far behind the Aussies. Easy to mock Quins but at least they are giving local lads a decent chance.

Franchising keeps loads of dull mediocre teams in the top flight who don't deserve to be their at all.

One of which scored 4 tries yesterday you may remember
To add to this we have just taken Ambler from Leeds for a season and a young lad from HKR on trial. 5 or 6 of the 18/20's joined the first team squad recently
There was mention on the main site that Quins sales were up on last season-yes it may be small buts its movement in the right direction

Just to add to that most people I know haven't yet bought their season tickets but said they are going to purchase one. I know quite a few aswell who use to go and stopped during the past 2 season's who will be coming back for this season. Hopefully with the right marketing and performances on the pitch improve, I can see a 6kish average gate attendance.

Hull KR are a good pro-active club trying to make BIG improvements to their ground which will pay dividends long term. Franchising has kept dross clubs playing in mediocre outdated Stadia in the closed shop known as SL. I'll believe Salford's new Stadium when I see it being built ( not just the Groundworks! ) As for Cas and Wakey, don't make me laugh, two clubs 10 miles apart and they still can't agree a groundshare, does anyone actually believe either will build a new Stadium?? Headingley is a Tip and Falling to bits, Odsal is very very dated and the club and local authority certainly can't fund a new Stadium.
On a more positve note, Saints, Le Cats and Hull KR all making strides forward in updating or building new Stadia.

without the new ground it wouldnt have happened at all
crowds were under 3000, now up near 7000/ 8000.
thats massive.
all the clubs with old grounds reached their crowd limit and are now treading water ie cas, wakey, salford.
new ground = bigger crowds.

you cant count leeds or bradford as mediocre clubs purely because of their crowds and leeds finances as well. headingly is slowly being improved as well.

it was always going to be one or more of these clubs wasn't it?.
