Maybe the Wakey fans will get lucky and attract an owner who knows what he/she is doing. They may even get REALLY lucky and get an owner who immediately ditches the name Wakefield Trinity Wildcats. Never been a huge fan of these 'new' names in our sport but for sheer embarrassment factor, that has to be the tops.

The 2 most probable names at the moment are David Garthwaite (a successful local businessman- MD of a large independent brewery) and Jonathan France (MD of Eric France and Sons- scrap metal merchants- our current sponsor).
Either would have the capital to contest even some of the more "heavy-weight" chairmen in SL.
Neither would touch the club with a ten foot barge pole while TR is/was in charge. However the door is now open for either/both to come on board.
A quick and beneficial transition could massively improve our application and give us the money we deserve to spend in the transfer market. |

So now these are "probable" are they? You admit on the Wakefield site they are pure speculation. Garthwaite was last known to show any interest in the club a decade ago, and France is currently barred from acting as a director of any UK limited company. No doubt we would have a great team when the price of stainless was high - however, history shows that he has absolutely no hesitation in shutting an operation down when it becomes unprofitable. Not someone we should trust the stewardship of a historic club like Trinity with IMHO.
I'm not looking to pick a fight with you or anyone else, but I think we do need to keep the commentary on this important issue sensible. Personally, I believe the club must be absolutely knackered for Ted and family to want out - they have always acted as thought they would not leave while there was still an ounce of cash to be drawn out of the old girl. |

| Okay Wakefield Fans, I wrote a letter to a very nice man in Austria, called Dietrich Mateschitz, he's worth around £3.5 Billion, and I just thought of you when I read that, He owns a little soft drink firm in austria, Red Bull, and I think it could give you wings, to stay afloat in super league.
