There was trouble with fighting at at least 1 Challenge Cup final I've been to. It just didn't get as much publicity.

| Grand Final would be better played at Wembley under the flood lights, it is a fantastic stadium and we should use it more. But until Old Trafford is sold out every year no point even looking to move it.

| OT had about 10,000 empty seats last year.
Anyway, Wembley for me. The GF seems plastic and made up just for Sky purposes.

The GF is a culmination of a years hard work and the CC can be reached through very little work at all, reference Warrington this season.

Don't know if you're trying for bites but come on?
Hudds away
Bradford away
Catalan away
Difficult ties, as it was last year, with the majority of games being away from home as well.

| Leeds had the harder path there this year [Hull A, Wigan H, Saints N, though neither come close to how Saints always drew the Championship/Championship 1 teams at home until the Semis... Whilst Wigan have had about 3 home draws in 10 years.

| Wembley is the better occasion IMO. Better stadium, proper weekend away, plus the fact you get a longer build-up to it once you're in the final increases the anticipation. Grand Final is the bigger game, but a poor relation in terms of occasion for me.

plus the CC has had all the pro teams involved and quite a few amateurs so it a far more embracing event.

| Wembley and the challege cup is soaked in tradition and has that national identity by observers outside of the game. The new wembley has lost a bit of atmosphere though, I remember the Hull/Saints final and the noise from both sets of spectators didn,t transmit from one end to the other.
Old Trafford has a great atmosphere is easy to get to with reasonable ticket prices.
So it would be Wembley for me, because it advertises the game nationally, where the grand final has only a selective (sky) audience.

Since when could '[iLet me know when you've won 3[/i' be interpreted as 'sarcasm', let alone irony? I'm all for a bit of banter, but what goes on here is like a tennis player hitting the ball over the net and then getting shirty when the other guy hits it back! And, referring to your monicker, I seem to remember little appreciation of irony by the Aussie public over Leon Price's remarks about preferring Blackpool beach to Bondi beach.

Point out where I said 'Let me know when you've won 3'... You commented on my response to Wire 74 who clearly knew I was joking yet you couldnt see as that. End of story....

| The problem with the CC final is the number of bods who have little interest in the game and more interest in how much they can drink. As a result you seldom go 5 minutes with someone needing the bar or the toilet. You get a more dedicated RL fan at the GF

| As others have said, the GF has a certain aura about it. Walking up to a buzzing OT under the lights, with a whole season on the line. The CC Final is a good day out but give me a Championship decider over a Cup Final any day.

| Both Finals are great but I have to say the Grand Final is more of a meaningful final it's something you work for all season and the winner has right to be called champions, the Challenge Cup is really just a side competition these days although it does have alot of history and puts RL on a national scale with it been shown on the BBC.

| In my opinion it should always be the Challenge cup.
The league winners should be the champions
The winners in the play offs should play in the WCC?

So we should send a team that could well not be 'champions' in your eyes to play in the WCC? Bit weird that. You either have a league with no playoffs or have the champions decided by the playoffs.
I've been to both finals and I find the GF to be the one that really gets the juices flowing. The CC is a nice day out but defeat in it, while painful, is nothing on losing a GF. With the CC there's always the thought that there's the GF to come for redemption. The GF is do or die and decides the champion team of the year. As has been said earlier I'd rather see us lose Saturday and win the GF than the other way round.

Exactly... 2005 for example.
I left the Cup Final feeling slightly disappointed at our last minute loss to Hull but soon got over it on the way home. Contrast this to my feeling of total devastation at the final hooter in Old Trafford against the Bulls. I felt that the Bulls had been nowhere near us all year only to snatch it off us when it really counted. I have never been as gutted after losing a game as I was that night.
Also I was at the cup final in '99 that we won and as good as the day was and as nice as it was to win ATEOTD it was just the cup to me. Again contrast this to 2004 when McGuire went over to seal the title with a few minutes left and its the only time I have ever cried at a rugby league game.
For me its the SL Title every time.

| League champions > cup winners so it's the Grand Final for me.
The CC final is a great occasion steeped in history and tradition but I look forward more to the GF. It's not like the CC final where you only have to win a handful of games to get there. Getting to Old Trafford is the aim from when you start your first pre season training session and you have to play a whole seasons worth of games to get there, and then you know that you have to win on the night or the whole season would be for nothing.
Having a big occasion where the champions for the year are decided, played under lights at Old Trafford is one of the best things about Super League for me and is one of it's biggest selling points. Winning the title there would be much more elating than winning it at somewhere like the Willows or the Stoop with a month of the season still to go.
