Coventry you get more, but it tends to be just at the level of watching SL on television, but that may mean people would watch a SL on the road. Rugby union's much bigger in Coventry than it is in Birmingham (when you factor in population) as it's a big sport in the southern half of the midlands, but Nottingham are the only big (ish) club in the northern midlands. Although also the southern side of Birmingham (i.e. around Moseley) plus nearby Solihull RU is bigger than in northern Birmingham


20 miles apart, so not quite, but train service is very good. Wouldn't work for MM though as the biggest stadium's about 30,000. If you're looking at a semi-pro club starting then the best bet's Nottingham by far.


Expel Nottingham City from the league. They arbitrarily decided mid-season one year they'd chuck out the bottom 3 teams. While they did get to join the National Conference League (which wasn't part of the RFL's original plan, but BARLA didn't want to leave clubs without a suitable league) they lost most of their players due to not being able to pay the wages anymore in what was effectively an amateur league.

Can't see Birmingham happening sometime soon, it appears to be the international game that the RFL are trying to develop , Dublin seems nailed on as the next venue, possibly 2012 onwards.

I'm going to Cats away next weekend so i'll definitely need them both for that

Birmingham would be a very promising option, there would be some good local support there as well as there are 2 amateur rugby league divisions operating in the midland area.
Its seems common sense to grow gradually out from the heartland area, trouble is the RFL are pretty good at looking at alternative isolated areas.
