| Miles off happening but you'd assume if eleven, or even ten, clubs were good to go the other(s) would have to withdraw temporarily and have their results expunged.

| Well maybe if the Government didn’t have a bumbling baboon in charge a lockdown may have come a lot sooner. It was clear that as soon as Italy went into lockdown the rest of Europe should’ve done the same. Three weeks too late, cheers for that BJ!

you have to assume there is some other trigger that forces someone to even suggest bungling babboonery belongs in the same sentence as the current governments management of covid 19
some people are so completely consumed by the chip on their shoulders, they just can't get with the program without throwing crap in it.

Possibly the supermarket chains should have acted earlier. That’s the problem with this Country they put things in place when the damage has already been done.

It was clear to me that the transportation coming from China should of been stopped as soon as they realised there was a problem there but still allowed it to happen, the next critical step was to repatriate everyone to their country and not isolate them allowing it to spread again, compassion has got in the way of basic thought which is quite understandable and now we're doing what should of being doing in the first place.
Hey ho stay safe everyone and let's ride it out

AN UPDATE FOLLOWING TUESDAY'S SUPER LEAGUE BOARD MEETING
The Betfred Super League clubs held a Board meeting via conference call today, attended in part by senior officials of the Rugby Football League, for further discussion of how to respond to the current public health crisis.
After the meeting, Robert Elstone (Super League Executive Chairman) and Ralph Rimmer (RFL Chief Executive) issued the following joint statement.
“With the country having taken such unprecedented measures, the primary focus and priority for all has to be the public health emergency – an approach that is equally applicable for our overseas clubs.
"Rugby League clubs are deeply embedded in their communities, and we are committed as a sport to following Government advice and doing all we can to promote the importance of physical and mental health – for our supporters, players and colleagues.
"In line with the approach announced by the UK Government last night, we will regularly review the situation regarding the possibility of resuming fixtures – and remain as flexible as possible, in consultation with other partners, and with the key considerations of financial sustainability and player welfare.”
Ralph Rimmer added: "Following today’s meeting of Betfred Super League clubs, we will also be updating other sections of the game with the latest thinking regarding the suspension of the season, as the sensible approach is clearly to continue working on various scenarios while acknowledging the suspension is going to be considerably longer than the three-week period we had initially confirmed.
"The key for the sport is to continue acting in a collegiate, united and positive way.”
Robert Elstone added: "Super League and its Clubs are working round the clock to prepare ourselves for the challenges ahead and to ensure the sport is in the best possible place for when life returns to normal.
"Our priorities are the health of our players and staff and the economic well-being of our clubs.
"We welcome the government's proposals to help businesses, and in partnership with the RFL we are exploring all the options available to us.
"We are also keeping close to all our partners and, in particular, offering all our support to Sky Sports.
"Most of all, we are sticking together and looking out for the health of our families, friends and colleagues.
"Our sport has enviable values that stem from the behaviours and attitudes of all of us.
"These will be essential to emerging strong at some point in the near future.
"On behalf of all Super League clubs, we thank you for your loyalty and continued support."

| Can't see there being any RL played this season in the UK. None of the worldwide health experts know what will happen when we all start 'mingling' together again in public, will the virus (if/when it does relapse) just return in the same way as it evolved. I'm just a screenprinter, but that is my uneducated guess anyway.

I agree.
At the moment it's all about the virus, although parts of China are starting to allow people to move around a little and I guess we will learn from their actions.
There will be major, major difficulties when the league does finally re start as travel to Toronto and France are still likely to be restricted and in Toronto's case, assuming that SL can continue this year, the local climate will go against them.
Their only chance will be to play their home games in the UK, which starves them of any income completely.

| Once initial lockdown periods end, not just here but around the world, restrictions will be lifted gradually. They definitely won't just start allowing freedom of movement and thousands of people gathering at sporting events straight away. Once a few more things start opening again, any issues with the virus will us back in lockdown. That's before we even get to a potential second spike next winter. Anyone expecting this rugby league season to resume is living in fantasyland.

| Remember last week when that young 21 year old girl was plastered all over the press as being the youngest victim of this awful disease and had no underlying health conditions? Well it turns out she actually had a heart attack, was rushed to hospital and sadly died there. She was listed as dying from Coronavirus because her family mentioned to the hospital she had a sore throat. No test for Coronavirus was undertaken. With this is mind, how accurate are the stated figures for deaths that are 100% caused by Coronavirus?
Before Tommy threatens the police on me (LMAO), it was the guardian that has brought this to light

But quite bizarrely a young 21 year old no underlying health conditions, not been treated by any doctor dies suddenly.
Yet there is no autopsy to establish cause of death is the concerning thing.

quite simply, they keep getting asked "how long..." by the same journalists over, and over, and over, and over.... they don't feel they can say "we don'tknow" as certain parts of the media will crucify them, so they have to keep saying "it might be x, or y, or z". A huge part of the problem is that the a huge percentage of tne people of London (and other big cities) seem to be struggling with the concept of social distancing. As you say, unlikely to see anything before July, at the earliest, IF we see [ianything[/i this year it would mean a lot bigger challenges have been faced, and beaten.

It's a little different f0r Leeds United, as the bulk of the football season has been played, although, unlike Liverpool in the Premiership, Leeds ,although top, would not be certainties to remain there if/when all games are complete (should that ever happen).
The RL season is still in it's infancy, with Leeds having completed just 5 games out of 29 and they're not even top of the pile, albeit with a couple of games in hand.
Not sure when it becomes "fair" to award a title for an incomplete season but, 80/85% would be a reasonable line, 15% (approx.) is not. Dont blame him for trying though.
