I think you (and the intellectuals at London) mean "alternative". Alternate means to keep doing or using one thing and then another (unless London do plan to wear one shirt and then the other every other game, regardless of being at home or not?). Alternative means to be available as another possibility or choice.

Mind you, we're all thicko's up here in the "Norf", so I'm probably wrong.

Ok, Ok, so I was just having a poke back. My understanding of the "other" meaning of the word (with the emphasis on "ter"icon_wink.gif was that this was a US pronunciation and use of the word. Hence if New York enter our league, then it would be correct.

4 World Club Challenge wins I believe

I wasn't sure if it was for their 4 World Club Challenge Wins or for their 4 GF wins?

It is WCC wins. Surprised other clubs don’t do the same. I think national football teams started it off with stars for World Cup wins.

World Cup in football is the pinnacle or Champions League in club football. Winning a WCC is a nice bonus that usually gets downplayed with excuses when an English team wins. It's down the pecking order compared to GF or CC wins.

How come they took the club name off the bottom of the sleeve?

at huddersfield we only currently have the main shirt released, expect the alternative shirt out after cudjoes testamonial this weekend

I think two seperate launches is the way to go personally. Gives more exposure. However I always consider it to be pretty amateurish for clubs to not have them both released in time for Christmas.

If a club is confident it can shift a load of shirt, it will do so irrespective of the timing of the launch of it.

Think about it, if you have your premium product in the club shop in December, then anyone wanting to spend on club merchandise is likely to buy the rep shirt. If its not for sale at that point, then you are still going to get sales of other items during December.

Put your club rep shirt for sale in the weeks before the season starts, an item with historically sells well, you are not only maximising sales of "other" items, but spreading your cashflow income.

Valid point. Theres pros and cons. Some people will buy anything with a club badge on it just for the sake of putting somethong under the tree, but other people are more picky. Someone who fancied an away shirt for Christmas (for example) might not bother again later on when it does become available. I prefer for everything to be available for what is undoubtedly the biggest shopping time of the year.

Huh? At Widnes, we've been including a star on our kits for several years for that exact reason.

The club are changing their name back to the Blue Sox therefore it needed to be removed otherwise that would look silly.

Yeah, Trinity has had them on their shirts for the past couple of years if I remember right but for being Champions. Looks like Wigan probably went with WCC because they wouldn't fit the amount Championships they've won around their crest.

On that subject Hull released a shirt for the Aus trip about a week ago but it doesnt look like it has been posted here. Apparently its just for the St George game. Hoops against Wigan.

To my way of thinking that is a proper away shirt - basically a reverse of the home shirt meaning the club colours are retained - well done Leeds.

Yeah, I like both the Leeda & Hull's down under shirts, very tidy indeed. I also like the Aussie green and yellow touches in the Hull shirt.

Bit tricky for the likes of Wigan/Hull though.
