I thought it was fastest man in super league. Not fastest man in the Valvoline cup. Apart from Broughton they were all under 20 players. We need a proper one. From the super league clubs I would like to see the following go toe to toe.

There were players from across the divisions competing on Tuesday evening - its just that the fact seems to have been ignored for some reason on this thread. Gareth Potts of Batley actually finished in third place.

Monaghan?? Im quicker than him over 100m if I let him start and had a brew first.. Atkins is quick but im sure Evans is quicker. If Briscoes the fastest man at hull then they've got problems, I rate Briscoe as a player but he lacks true pace

give ah van a spear and have a big ol dinosaur at the other end for him to club and he may be the quickest

Fastest players at Hull apparently are Jack Briscoe and Tom Lineham.

Tom is absolutely rapid. He ran this race for York a few years back and came 2nd to Jamal Chisolm.

They don't run with a ball anymore either.

Tom Lineham is the quickest player at Hull - the commentator even said he was his favourite to win the race, dont know why he didnt feature

Needs more profile this event, could be ran as a charity event. At LSV theres am athletics stadium with a decent capacity that would be great as a venue.

Tom Lineham's the fastest player at Hull but hasn't played a SL game, hence why he hasn't been mentioned in the discussions about only having players who have played SL competing.
Lineham may get a game next season, he only signed a full-time contract a couple of months ago.


Tom Briscoe is also pretty fast, I don't know why so many people on here doubt his pace. His brother Jack (on loan at Fev atm) is very quick too.

I think people saw him get caught by Mannering and assumed he wasnt that quick, although he was carrying a knock and had been limping a few minutes earlier. He isnt lightning but you only need to watch his break to make Manus try last week to see he isnt lacking pace.

I remember seeing the inaugural one at Robin Park in 2003ish - the place was full hours before the race took place, so we watched it from one of the DW car parks across the river from the athletics track with several hundred others to give some support to Damian Munro running for Leigh. He'd have had a decent shot at beating eventual winner Darren Albert had he not knocked on after about 10m

Going on what I have heard from the HKR pre-season camps the past two years, Sam Latus is up there with the quickest when doing sprint testing however it is unusual that they test over 100mtrs usually 20 and 40 sometimes 60 due to 100 being unrealistic except for maybe the odd winger interception.

Not sure about the young lads not seen enough of them to know who's rapid or not. Dave Hodgson certainly isn't anywhere near, got ran down the other week after about 30yrds and he was practically clear when he set off. Even though Welham has finished plenty of distance tries he's nowhere near in this event IMO. Think with confidence Jake Webster would push over the first 50 but would drop off at the back end.
