| Bull. The Warriors opened up more NZ players to the Australian first grade competition. Without that NZ would not have the player pool they do now. PNG needs the same boost in full time pro players playing at the top level and a PNG NRL team is the ONLY way to do that. Anyone who says having a Kumuls side made up entirely of full time NRL players wouldn't improve their competitiveness at international level is either lying or a moron. Even poms realise that having more players in the NRL will help their Test side.

Really? That's a pretty arrogant statement. You're saying that the only reason the Kiwis are world champs and 4 nations champs is because the NRL let the warriors play in their comp.

Really.......is that more of the famous arrogant aussie culture.
PNG in the NRL is a pipe dream. No name calling, just realism.......it is a 3rd world country. It needs a lot of things and an NRL team is not one of them.

| Realism? If you think the Warriors entering the ARL wasn't the most significant factor in NZ's emergence as a major competitor to Australia you have no idea. And if you think enough PNG players are going to gain the necessary professional experience any other way than having their own NRL team you have even less of an idea. Reality seems to be something you don't understand at all. And if you think that pommy fans don't think having more players in the NRL will help the England side you don't read much on this board. Your knowledge of RL is severely limited. Not surprising from a union troll. And a plastic Kiwi too. You reckon you're not into name calling but you're happy to make biggoted generalisations about not one but two countries in the same post. And then finish with an arrogant statement of your own, as if you know what the people of PNG need.

| Offers nothing to the rest of the NRL (self interest governs as much here as it does in UK)
3rd world country
Not a hope of raising an income of $20mill
Will not have a talent pool big enough to put together a competitive NRL team for at least a decade
No suitable stadium and the figures suggested for building a new one won't even get them something the standard of Kograh
Apart from that its a great idea. When the NRL shows it is big and rich enough to actually have a national game then they can think about expanding to exotic climes.

Perhaps they should stop the Olympics in London due to violent and unrelated protests then?
Or cancel the World Cup in football due to hooliganism that is, by all accounts, 100x worse than anything RL will ever see?

Are you seriously comparing London to PNG
What is being suggested by the brains trust from the NRL Boards who for some reason are debating this NRL based topic away from their own boards is that PNG get an NRL team.....which will generate billions, stop violence in the country, end rape and also find a cure for Cancer and Aids.
PNG is a third world country. To put a professional team in place would be borderline insane and at best a totally reckless undertaking.
Read the headlines in my earlier post........vilence at one game....police having to step in at another.....
More from a story I posted earlier this week
[urlhttp://www.stuff.co.nz/world/south-pacific/5239005/PNG-tribesman-tracked-couple-before-attack[/url
Quote Dr Daniel Priest, the medical superintendent at Rumginae Hospital, said in an email sent to Ok Tedi staff that the tribesman had committed previous attacks.
"The perpetrator was a known felon who has been imprisoned before for rape and has supposedly offended at least four times," Dr Priest wrote. '"
Sorry if you think I am being harsh on PNG.....but it really isn't ready for an NRL team.
I suspect the reason this is being discussed on the VT rather than the NRL board, or even the international board is the 2 heads of the PNG Brains trust know that any Southern Hemiisphere based poster with 1 brain cell would be able to show this up as being a badly thought out pipe dream that hasn't a cat in hells chance of happening anytime soon...

| What a feck wit. Even when legitimate and obvious examples from other sports like soccer hooliganism is raised this union troll ignores it completely. Just like every other fact that totally nullifies any protest against a PNG team. The bid accounts for any and every issue raised by the biggots who don't wnat to give PNG people a team and yet they still go out of their way to slander the people of that country with statements like "third world" which isn't even an accepted term anymore and hasn't been for a long time. This pillock tries to suggest he knows everything about southern hemisphere rugby league but doesn't even know what the eligibility rules for State of Origin are. That's what you get for being a blow-in unionite I guess.

I can see this ending well
Regardless of whay you or any other myopic aussie idiot posts about the NRL, the fact remains that it isn't the wonderful thing you believe it to be. It gets less money than the bigger code.....TV viewing figures outside SoO are manipulated to suit various arguments, Monday night football and the rain are blamed for the decline in crowds, players continue to pop up in the press for non-rugby related issues liKe violence, violence towards women and drink driving to name just 3.
As for expansion? Penrith are shipping $11,000,000 a year in losses.......some Sydney teams have taken their home games to NZ when they play the Warriors to artificcially inflate their season averages.......5 games in Sydney this weekend attracted less than 1 AFL game in Victoria. Get Sydney sorted before you even look at WA.........never mind NZ II or the still laughable PNG
I repeat.......this is on the VT because you know you'd be laughed out of town by posters with a bit more "local" knowledge. Just because I used to play Union, you try to smokescreen the issues by calling me a troll.....fact remains that those on these boards who have met me know that I am anything but.

| Union troll slating RL. What a shock. Oh and claiming he is not a union troll, only to slate RL some more. I've seen it all before. A million times. It could be Tommy Two Codes or just about any other union troll on the web. "I'm not a union troll.... but here's everything that's wrong with RL". It's pathetic and obvious. This issue is on multiple forums and is just as relevant here. Just because you spend so much time looking for news articles from PNG so you can slander those people and you don't realise this doesn't mean it's not true. You're a pathetic union apologist who doesn't want to see RL succeed anywhere and your ridiculous lies about TV ratings, club losses etc just proves it beyond doubt. You have no RL credibility whatsoever. I doubt you have ever played or been involved in the game in any way at all and yet you admit you're an old union boy. Enough said. The proof is glaring. No RL person would play union, make up lies to ridicule RL in Australia, bring up off-field incidents but fail to mention that they occur in every code and go out of their way to portray the people of PNG in such a derogatory way.

OK.....I deny:
I am a Union Troll: I freely admit to having played the game and still watching Ireland in internationals. I will also watch the S15 final this weekend, but I am not a troll.
Yes, I point out the failings of RL as I see them......I am a realist. If I were to join a Union forum, I would point out their many failings.....but I am not, I am on a RL Board. You Aussies have a real issue with being told the truth.........you don't like it when your warts'n'all are shown up.
As I have said, people on these boards who have met me and know me are aware of the work that I have done for London RL over the years.....I even cycled from London to Leeds for XIII Heroes in 2004 for an injured London RL player, I have leafleted for both my home club and other events and have met with the RFL to discuss the problesm in London........but hey...keep the name calling going. It makes you look even more stupid.
The only other "denying" that could be done is the reports from the international press regarding the crimes being committed in PNG. Are you saying you would deny these? The Nazis used to do that sort of thing.......
As usual, Aussie/NRL numpty gets shown up and calls another poster names.....but adds nothing to the debate.

he doesnt watch the nrl either lol so take his comments for pure trolling
the appetite for expansion will only increase in the nrl as more money comes into the game
right now we need money for our existing clubs and we will expanded to the "easier" places like perth, central coast and more queensland teams
but eventually a team in PNG and a 2nd NZ side will happen when the games finances are overflowing and the bidders satisfy the NRL of their vaibility
wouldnt surprise me to see us add 4 new teams in 2020 the way we are growing
indeed i can see a 22 team competition and a salary cap of around $10 million or so
with the top players on $3 million pa
TV ratings just destroy every other sport
we have no competetion now
