| if you want to play for the wallabies play NRL for a year, fail at it.
youll be a success in the other code
indeed we produce such great athletes now AFL wants them too.
you really have to laugh at union as a sport
japan, nz, australia, england, ireland, france and probably a few ive forgotten have taken NRL players into their ranks
and the funny thing is many of them are accepting pay cuts of 80% to return back to the nrl
its good to see that onece a leaguie, always one

| I've never disagreed with that Dally.
What I said was the NRL clubs couldnt beat the wallabies at union and that in the UK the best youngsters go to union. Both of those are stone cold fact

| I still reckon the wannabies would get done by any NRL side, even maybe some under 20s would give them a run for there money.
I'm not quiet sure on this but wasn't it Leeds that got invited to play in the union sevens and won the tournament?and they never welcomed them back again ?

Because that was what was claimed earleir: it escalated from there.
The second thing I argued was that most of the British talent goes to union before league, for various reasons whether that be profile or money. I've seen it with my own eyes, especially down south, they may prefer league as a sport but a mate of mine went to play for England schoolboys union after various 'incentives' were offered, at a grassroots level they have so much more money. I went to Salford when I was a kid, it was an amateurish setup, my best mate went to Widnes, same result there (probably why most of their best juniors end up at other clubs).
I brought up the welsh backline because they'd all walk into Englands very poor Rugby League team. A fullback I knew at uni only played for a LLanelli scarlets feeder team and he was phenominal. A bit small but better than most league fullbacks from my area back home. They have the talent in bucketloads down there which is why I was hoping Celtic would stick it out in S Wales.
They play a w*nk sport but they're pretty talented rugby players being wasted in kick and clap. Shane Williams has one of the best sidesteps in recent memory imo

| i dont think the welsh backline would walk into any RL side, they save their walking for the union fields
union players are inferior athletes.
the core skills of passing, running and tackling are deficient and would be easily exposed at club RL level, let alone at international level.
union players dont train as hard as ours do, and also waste time on meaningless stuff like mauls, scrums and lineouts
in the whole sport of union worldwide, you could probably only come up with 10 players tops who could succesfully make the transition to club level RL (not including our converts)
the flip side has been shown where NRL players can make the wallabies 6 months after crossing over.

| ill repeat, you can tell how s**t union players are by how many ex NRL players there are in union around the world.
at a guess, what would it be 20 - 40 players?
what a joke of a "sport"

| I was referring more to the UK in my point where the complete opposite has been found.
I don't think we're going to agree on this and everythings been said so it's probably time to draw a line under it and move right on back to the Celtic discussions...all 18 of them
There were some interesting points on the wrexham football forum, some that may indicate a future success, the flatcap brigade wont be happy
p.s. You've never seen Henson tackle have you

and my comments referred to the UK. these teams play against the wallabies and dont stand out
the whole sport is based on s**t athletes.
look at all our coaches over there improving their game
RU today = RL in 1960s under unlimited tackles and zero metre offside rule
now theyve got their defence up to 80s/90s levels.
will they work out decoy running etc and adopt our running angles?
look at all the union people saying the sport is boring and outdated and needs to copy us
all union has in england is establishment and bigotry.

| These are the most damning stats on the whole issue of cross-code:-
Every single team of the 4 Home Nations in Union has a rugby league defence coach...
Wales
Ireland
Scotland
England
8 Guinness Premiership sides have rugby league defence coaches...
Bath
Gloucester
Leeds
Leicester
London Irish
London Wasps
Newcastle
Worcester
Number of rugby league clubs employing a union person - 1 (started couple weeks ago)
Good night and God bless.

What has that got to do with ANYTHING we've discussed here you strange little man??
If anything it only backs up my point, more than one of them in fact.
Look, I KNOW Manly's a bit of a special fella, but you're just a blatant troll who's already been exposed on the VT so why don't you tottle off there.

I agree. It really p's me off when Union commentators talk about new inovations in their game that have just been pinched from the NRL. Most of the big oafs in a Union pack are not athletes, just tall, dopey fellas who can jump to catch a ball in the lineout (with the help of their mates hoisting them up) and kicking the sh*t out of someone on the floor during a ruck.

Utter nonsense.
If the English Rugby League team put in the Welsh Union backline and played the Kangaroos or the Kiwis, the "gun" Welsh Union backline would have to be peeled off the fences afterwards.
I notice you called someone a troll.

ray warren talks about them sometimes and ive read stuff in RL magazines.
the way the sport took off in france and what they added to RL was brilliant
im sure you know, but others dont, it was their idea to install a RL world cup
