Quite looking forward to watching Salford v St Helens on Sky tonight. Then the thought of the impending incessant cacophony of commentary voices to come is so off putting. O'Connor is clearly the most unbearably terrible of the lot. Does he think he's doing a coaching video for Ashton under 8s or something? Interesting to hear him say he thinks his joinery days are behind him now he has a media career. Hope he is required to re-think that sooner rather than later.

and why can't we just have one commentator, who describes what's happening on the pitch, one intelligent, articulate summariser and switch off the referee's mic whilst the ball is in play and just switch it on when the commentator decides we should all listen to him?

How is that a penalty, the player has his feet on the line and strikes the arm and the saints player knocks on, that's such a BS call and cummings explanation is equally a pile of steaming turd as it's not relevant if the player is in an onside position!
Ref giving saints plenty but they don't need it as Salford are absolutely dire.

Hemmings makes so many mistakes now in commentary, every game. Time to retire.

How utterly unprofessional and cringeworthy is the patter these four come up with!? Pathetic

I've actually realised that Barrie McDermott is often the voice of reason on most incidents in games - but it's reduced to puerile banter when Eddie and co try to come back at him. There are simply too many voices vying for attention, and it's jarring and distracting.

Get rid of O'Connor and Hemmings - bring in a more polished performer for the main chair, and keep Barrie as the co-commentator; Cummings has no useful role at the moment, but that's partly because they ask him to do the impossible, i.e to interpret what a referee is thinking - so either clarify his brief, or get rid of him too.

I like Carney and Wells as summarisers - but Clark has become a parody of himself; in trying to break the stereotype and sound intelligent, he often disappears up his own grammatical fundament. Angela is full of enthusiasm, but it's like a junior players Mum doing an interview.

The whole thing is stale and amateurish.

The Sky presentation is more listenable with Bill Arthur & Carney and Wells on commentary than the other shift. O'Connor can't hold a candle to Eddie Waring, never mind the current NRL professional commentators.

I much prefer commentary with Jon Wells, Brian Carney and Bill Arther. Very refreshing without and of Terry O’Connor, Phil Clarke or Eddie Hemmings.
