I agree completely
They turned professional years ago and hired league coaches dontcha know Dally, they're not brilliant but at their own sport they'd do what they need to do.

union players cant tackle, pass etc like RL players can.
when failed league players are stars in union the message is, our rejcts are good enough

| But dally, i've never denied that, that wasn't the issue.
You claimed NRL teams could beat the wallabies at union, I said they couldnt.
On the other side of the coin there's plenty of league 'stars' in this country who've gone to union and flopped very VERY miserably; Farrell, Harris, Vainikolo, Hape and you can include mark gasnier and Sonny bill in france. Gasniers gone okay actually but he's hardly been the player he was in the NRL.
El Masri's brilliant but if you take kicking averages across the leagues it's not even close. Union kickers kick plenty from all across the 50m line too.

Is he Manly? How so?
In Rugby League alone:
Does he have the world record for most goals scored? NO.
Does he have the world record for most kicks in a row? NO.
Or are you just making statements without checking stuff out. YES.

Anyone who can run lines and break the line would hate a game while they stand around watching fat idiots maul while they justify why they belong on a field (other than for a scrum).....if union didnt have money it would be done already, even advocates of union are stating how poor the entertainment is.....how i hate the popularirty of union when there is a more than viable replacement available...our great game!
They talk about how thay could open the game up.....I have an idea.....
Get rid of the puddings who cant run, or tackle....the props and hookers....and second rows
Make people take chances....limit the tackles rather than have 100 drives of 10 cm waitin for someone to infiringe to score a penalty......like limiting an attack to 6 tackles.....
punish a penalty properly....like not letting the opposition contest against a penalty like a lineout....read the following....take away one wing and a fullback? Yeha do it....take two more attacking players out of the most defensive game ever!
news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_u ... 385934.stm
I am sure he is a plant for RL!

| It's like a lot of things though, if you go to a sport simply for cash then it's hard to be a success when you have no real passion for a game, especially when you consider it an inferior code, which I imagine many converts do.

Isn't Gasnier on the top of the tryscorers list in the Top 14 at the moment?
Isn't he a winger there?
Correct me if I'm wrong but a Union wingers job is to score tries. What else would you like him to do to be considered successful?
What about Luke Rooney, I watched part of a match the other night and he went very well, looked like he'd been there forever and he's a Rugby League winger who is a fullback in Union.
As for SBW, the only Union/League forward convert that has been any good since Union went pro is Brad Thorn. SBW needs time, I hope he gets it and is huge in Union because I don't want that idiot back in the NRL, ever.
As for the rest of your post, what unmitigated pap. The highest profile blokes to go to Union all played many, many tests. Tuquiri and Sailor were starters in the Wallabies virtually from day 1. Name one that has done it the other way since Union went pro.
As for Farrell, taking a Rugby League prop and turning him into a Union back was a smart move was it?

Im missing your point chief.
If you're on about this autumns team, there's injuries in the backs compared to the recent Grand Slam team.
EA, I watched Gasnier a couple of weeks back and he was a shadow of the NRL player. Either he isnt training properly or something because unions ruined him, he looked slow.
There's been a couple of successes yes, Robinson in this country.
I was referring to Manly's point about certain players coming back because they were bored, Witt, Tahu, SBW have been disasters.
SBW had experience of centre in league, and 12's not THAT dissimilar to hitting a line as a SR would in league, he should have adapted better in that league, it's like watching fat kids roll in the mud

Williams has been a better winger than Morris will ever be. Sadly in union the wingers rarely touch it other than to kick it

1. You are an idiot. No surprise you can't follow the thread.
2. "A couple of successes..." - (1962 still awaits you...)
3. Yes union ruins players. This was my original point - the game of rugby league produces the athletes. As a superior game, it produces superior athletes.
4. Apparently, playing in supposedly the world's major union club comp (Top 14) like SBW and Gasnier have done without a minute's experience of union is a "fail" for Dickless.
Something like Tuqiri, Sailor and Rogers were all "failures" although they all played more union Tests than Mark Ella.
5. Go Wales. What a backline...
You can't even mount a decent argument based on facts relating solely to union...

| The french comp is a farce, there was a pic posted of SBW's team mates, looked like your local amateur comp.
I didn't deny League produces better all round athletes whatsoever, in England/Wales many of the better players go and play union but you wouldn't know that.
The original point was the union mob wouldnt win at their own game, I said that was ridiculous and if you don't believe that then you really are a joke.
They're professional now and their 'skills' are designed to win union games.
Most of the full strength Welsh backline would walk into almost every union team and every league British team. If Shane Williams, Byrne, Hook or Henson became available at an affordable price they would walk into any SL side.
You're pretty childish for someone who's supposed to be of an adult age and have provided NO counter argument.

The irony...
You have no argument whatsoever. I completely shredded it in this thread.
The fact you can't read or fathom that is an indictment on you.
As for my knowledge of English/Welsh rugby league and sport generally, I believe my friends such as Harry Edgar and Tony Collins might disagree with your erroneous assessment.
Perhaps you have heard of them???

Actually, based on what I saw there is no way you could make those statements about Gasnier. He's standing out on the wing for some Union team wearing a pink outfit, touching the ball twice per game.
But apparently, he's scoring enough off those two touches to be leading the try-scoring in Top 14...

Gasniers movement is poor, against harlequins he got shredded by a guy no quicker than me, made a half break and didn't slice through and when Shontayne Hape's showing you up, you know you've got issues.
He just looked really...immobile
