Also need to stop inviting the Hearn's along and actually give the the contract to promote the Magic Weekend, CC Final and Grand Final, even it it means paying out more commission or a fee in the short term these events need a boost

Just to be clear, what were their proposals, a 12 team league with 5 team play offs, 1 up, 1 down (ie the exact same system as 2001 plus Magic Weekend)?

Super 8's scrapped due to poor crowds but replaced with loop fixtures, yeah crowds will come flooding back. nobody wants loop fixtures crowds will be just as poor this time next year. Nearly everybody wanted 14 team home away fixture list. GREEDY IDIOTS. no season ticket for me next year again, go go to the games that matter or what takes mu fancy, expect with magic weekend we will end up seeing some clubs playing the same side 4 times minimum. replace one crap system which something almost as crap. IDIOTS.

Would have liked the Qualifiers & MPG to stay, but agree that Super 8 league to decide who makes the grand final, was not working.
Should have been top 4 only. Every season 5-8th had very little to play for. The RFL will probably change the format again in a few years anyway...

This is like deja vu all over again. Didn't they already have a vote 11-1? How comes there was another vote that ended up 11-1?

It's a move back towards franchising for me, can see that happening within the next 3 years - be interesting to see if one up one down works better this time round

Great about time but I will ask again what if the team that wins the championship has a crap ground do they still come up because some time ago that was not allowed

The championship team just needs to lie and say they are building a new ground.

When that turns out to be a load of blame it on the local council.

Yeah some teams with crap grounds were knocked back. Whereas other teams promised to transform their crap ground into a remotely acceptable one and NEVER DID. They gained or kept a SL spot on absolute lies so that's the way to go.

For example, London win the Championship and announce that they are transforming Ealing into a 70,000 mega-stadium over christmas.

Or get the RFL to buy their ground, which is also crap and just try not to go bust.
At least the playing surface at BV is flat and of decent size and doesn't resemble a dried up butty at a poor mans wedding reception

Well the decisions being made (not that i think it will massively improve things with fixture fatigue still being an issue from loop fixtures) time to move forward as a sport now.

All eyes on the SL clubs and Robert Elstone now. Lets see where the sport is in 3 years time. Can't blame anyone else or hide behind anything like they did with the stovart deal or voting the 8s in in the first place.

Given that their business plan for growing the game consists of bullying lower league clubs into voting for less cash. I’d suggest sky will be ing themselves.

I can understand the thinking moving away from the 8's, but is the best we can come up with? Loop fixtures? what a load of baloney.

What an ideal time to go to 14 teams, it didn't have to be toulouse & toronto - but the top 6 from the middle 8's move up. If that becomes London then so be it, or all 3 with widnes dropping out.

This in essence will kill the championship competetion, and if we have teams ready to take the next step up we won't have have the foresight to increase the league size. Greed, incompetence or a mixture of both really have ensured we have the 12 teams at the top table and not much changing year on year. We needed to be bold, look to grow the game and our audience. Poor decision to stay at 12 imo

The reluctance to go to 14 clubs perhaps just shows that, despite the hype and rhetoric, how little interest there is from Sky to include Toronto and Toulouse in SL.
The sad thing is that Toronto will get there anyway, assuming that their backers dont get cold feet and/or run out of money.

Perhaps some of their cheer leaders can explain why their inclusion isnt worthy of re negotiating the current TV deal.

Said similar earlier but no so eloquently as i was in outrage mode. perfect chance to increase to 14 and have straight home away fixtures with a very viable competitive championship pushing for promotion.

There arent enough full time clubs that arent a whisker away from going bust to form a 14 league team thats why. Whats the point in forming a 14 league team when a number of those teams will probably go bust within a couple of years
