Well it couldn't have gone much worse than it did , could it ?
In a new stadium they might have drawn better support from both fans and sponsors and become viable SL material , you know , like other Championship clubs did ?

You think that it's bollox that times and circumstances change? You think that times and circumstances remain constant? Chance for a cheap joke about a club there, but I'll leave it.

Why would you think that I think their application featured going into administration in it? Are you convinced that they're genuine plans were to move to a stadium that was never going to get built, and that's the same as Cas and Wakey?

Basketball and american football have no relevance to Britain , both sports are total garbage , football has promotion and relegation with minimum standards if you have a look

The request was for sports. It wasn't limited to sports where teams have their own assigned stadia and are relevant to Starbugland (both are relevant in normal Britain) and not played in the US and Japan.

No they haven't, they know that die hard fans like Starbug and others go to watch what's on the pitch and don't care what kind of facilities there is or what the stand is like. They also know that a lot more people are swayed by such matters.

Why would you think the discussion was limited to that route of entry or exit for teams in a sporting competition?
It came from the statement "Any sport which allows the decisions for competition placings to be decided behind closed doors in a boardroom instead of on the pitch has lost all legitimacy as a sport."
No reference to multiple tiers within those sports, or P&R.

| I think that the Super League is in a great position at the moment, unfortunately the National Leagues are not. Couldn't be bothered to read beyond the first 3 posts as it got the Virtual Terrace virus (like most threads do). It will be interesting to see how the league will look in 10 years time.
As a Wakey fan I am sort of looking forward to a stint in the national leagues, nothing about our current situation indicates we should be playing in Super League, maybe in a years time that might all change. My only worry is that heartlands clubs like us and the rest won't get a look in next time round. I just can't trust Richard Lewis and his cronies at Red Hall, after the countless blunders that the sport has encountered during their reign.
I wish the RFL would be crystal clear on their motives and not keep fans in the dark. For example why bother letting certain teams apply for a SL license when there isn't a hope in hell of getting one.

Which are? I suppose you could start with letting Wakefield into SL as a blunder but I think that was before Mr Lewis' time.

So you would be happier if only Widnes were allowed to apply for a licence? Of course not, you would be complaining as to why other clubs weren't allowed to apply. If a club doesn't have a hope in hell of getting a licence it's because there is a better club that will get one.

I have two questions regarding this port
Firstly, what are these countless blunders that the RFL leadership has made since Richard Lewis has been in charge?
Secondly, what do you suppose the reaction would be if the RFL actually told clubs that they were not even allowed to apply for a licence?

| As usual a post starts a thread , and that thread ' spawns ' an argument sometimes far from the o/p
Then opinions on that ' subject ' are given , nobody ever changes their opinion , we just all spar with each other trying in ever more tenuous ways to prove our point
Good innit
