Given Leigh took an impressive following for the last game ( and Batley took even more according to some Loiners ) your point probably doesn't stand , however as pointed out Leeds took more to The Giants for their 8s than the regular season games

That surprises me. I would of though Hull FC and Cas Tigers would have taken well over 1,000 supporters to Hudds away.

| Hull averaged 11,302 in the regular season (that's over 10 games, I couldn't find a figure for the Saints home game. In the 8's we averaged 12,387, which gives an overall of 11,612.
Not sure what to expect next year. Losing the game against Hull KR will hurt our attendances of course (our highest crowd, beating the LLS clash with Wire by about 50), but sales so far are very good, and with the success of last year you would like to think we can get close to an extra 1000 through the door on a regular basis, especially if we can be competitive again.

***HAVE**
They did this year, and have on other occasions, but not consistently, one year Cas brought 170 when things weren't going so well. Saints, Wire and Hull FC aren't usually too far off either though.

| One of the most interesting things for me will be seeing what difference Leigh replacing Rovers is going to make to attendances. Rovers always brought a good following to us which I doubt will be matched by Leigh. Having said that, as we've drawn Leigh at home first game of the season, Leigh's travelling support may be very good for that game with it being their first game back in SL. It may be that Lancashire clubs attendances benefit from Leigh replacing Rovers, and Yorkshire clubs attendances suffer slightly. It will be interesting to see how it starts to average out as the season goes on.

Yes but it was skewed by a 17000+ crowd for the game against Wire to decide the LLS. The other games were very similar to what we were getting in the regular season.

Both Batley and Leigh brought a much bigger following than a lot of super league clubs. Leeds's drop in attendances for the super 8's was certainly from less home fans attending.

Based on these figures:
the18thman.com/2016/09/28/super- ... ew-2016/2/
Toulouse and Toronto will easily surpass the attendance figures of Salford and Wakefield, by more than double. They will also significantly outperform the likes of Widnes and Huddersfield.
Toronto's advanced season ticket sales for League One are already at least equal to the average total attendances of Super League's Salford.
Thus the admission of Toulouse and Toronto into Super League, at the expense of Salford, Wakefield, Widnes etc. will surely lead to a very significant increase in Super League attendance figures.

When I write something that is not in the interests of woeful Wakefield, its supporters such as yourself and "Wildthing" immediately accuse me of trolling. This is a pathetic reaction.
Which claim did I make that is demonstrably false?
None, of course. I am telling a painful truth to the fans of the under-supported and antiquated clubs like woeful Wakefield and silly Salford --- i.e. that a new international dynamism is in the works, and that the more popular non-English clubs such as Toulouse and Toronto (and hopefully Montreal and Avignon thereafter) will soon vanquish the boring, has been English clubs from their places in Super League.

Yes, I remember Fulham in the 80's (15000 first game), Cardiff (10000 first game) and even 6000 in Kent, all non top tier 1st games as a club. Carlisle had a few good thousand too, and they gained promotion.
PSG ? Was it around 20000 when they played Sheffield in their first ever SL game ? was soon to be 900 or so !
Lets not get too giddy here. Consistency is the key. Once Toronto reach a division to lose a few (I think Toulouse will lose a considerable amount of games next year), we will soon see the attendances drop just like the above clubs from the 80's and mid 90's.

Leigh have always travelled well, irrespective of division or position. I can see 1500-2000 travelling to Cas.
St Helens, Widnes, Wigan, Salford and Wire will all greatly benefit. It could well offset the support of HKR, but they will be a huge miss because they too travel well.
I see Wigan highest attendance last season was 20k v Saints. The 20k may have been surpassed if it wasn't on Sky v Leigh
Leigh are on at least 13 times next season. I think that will reduce Leighs average considerably as i would expect the Wigan / Wire and saints games being near sell outs. Would be intersting to see the figures should Leigh get off to a half decent start.
The championship is a great division, and attendances should see a huge boost next year with HKRs introduction.

| The Championship is great you are right! In a way I am glad Hull KR came down instead of Salford because some of the Champ teams will lose a lot of revenue losing a lot of Leigh's great travelling support! But in Hull KR they will almost certainly get that now which is good! The Bulls travel in numbers everywhere we go so it will be great to see two well supported teams face each other next season!

As usual vastman cannot deal with the substance of my carefully crafted argument.
Just dismisses it all as trolling and gets back to celebrating the parochial club that still plays at that rat-hole called Bell Vue.
The fact is that the forces of globalism and modernity -- Toulouse and Toronto -- are coming, and antiquated parochials like woeful Wakefield, silly Salford and witless Widnes will all be swept away in the storm.

Your first line says it all - you're a troll looking for an argument - problem is nobody can be bothered anymore. You and all your previous incarnation are a spent force, it's actually quite sad watching you flounder like Kevin the teenager, ever more desperate to gain attention.

Not many. It is expensive to fly from Toulouse to northern England every other week. It is exorbitantly expensive to fly from Toronto to Manchester several times a year, and then stay over for several weeks in a hotel. Who can afford to do that? Certainly not anyone with a job.
