Like someone said playing it under the lights with it all to play for is different to the early start fro travelling down to Wembley. Don't get me wrong Wembley is a great day out but its a right pain in the backside for travel and a long way back if you lose.

The GF has that mystery about it when any team can beat anyone on the day, the CC not so much.

It's so automatic it's amazing. Pie fan ( in this case Smalls ) tries to provoke a Wire fan, Wire fan responds dismissively, another Pie fan has the cheek to have a go at the Wire for his response!

CC final all the time as the last couple of GF have had a large number of incidents in the stands (trouble with fighting)

well there was plenty of open spaces at old trafford last year for the fighting

There was trouble with fighting at at least 1 Challenge Cup final I've been to. It just didn't get as much publicity.

Wembley miles better stadium and better occasion imo.

Grand Final would be better played at Wembley under the flood lights, it is a fantastic stadium and we should use it more. But until Old Trafford is sold out every year no point even looking to move it.

OT had about 10,000 empty seats last year.

Anyway, Wembley for me. The GF seems plastic and made up just for Sky purposes.

The CC final has something SL GF doesnt, and it has it by the bucketload.

Difficult ties, as it was last year, with the majority of games being away from home as well.

Leeds had the harder path there this year [Hull A, Wigan H, Saints N, though neither come close to how Saints always drew the Championship/Championship 1 teams at home until the Semis... Whilst Wigan have had about 3 home draws in 10 years.

Wembley is the better occasion IMO. Better stadium, proper weekend away, plus the fact you get a longer build-up to it once you're in the final increases the anticipation. Grand Final is the bigger game, but a poor relation in terms of occasion for me.

plus the CC has had all the pro teams involved and quite a few amateurs so it a far more embracing event.

Let me think a walk/tram ride to OT (which I can do anytime I like)

Wembley and the challege cup is soaked in tradition and has that national identity by observers outside of the game. The new wembley has lost a bit of atmosphere though, I remember the Hull/Saints final and the noise from both sets of spectators didn,t transmit from one end to the other.

Old Trafford has a great atmosphere is easy to get to with reasonable ticket prices.

So it would be Wembley for me, because it advertises the game nationally, where the grand final has only a selective (sky) audience.

Im a GF kinda guy. I would happily give up Saturdays game if it meant we would win 4 in a row.
