Licensing had nothing to do with league position. Then again, when sides were given A grade licenses but play in stadiums not good enough for non-league football it does cast doubts over the process.

| How is it unfairly gifted when we met the franchise criteria better than any other team?
Unfairly relegated in 2005 and unfairly looked over when the shambles that was a Celtic crusaders took the spot
(If) it is true about the beet promoted team receiving only £1 million in funding, I’d count Widnes and a handful of other teams out. Wouldn’t want to build a competitive squad with that funding, knowing there could be a high chance of 0 gate money/minimum gate money
I’m sure DB at Leigh would still snap up the opportunity and why not. Not sure about the financial situation with Toulouse

If you mean what did/will they bring for you personally, Molsk, then only you can answer that.
In Leigh's last visit they nilled Salford to 25, shafted Wigan, beat Wire (albeit in a poor season for them), Huddersfield and Cats (and but for a bad choice at the death, should have beaten Leeds).
In 2018, London (despite losing three times to the by then relegated Leigh) reached the MPG and derailed Toronto's passage in doing so. In SL they won ten or more (?) games in making a hell of a fist of it (though to no avail). DAMN SIGHT BETTER FIST THAN TWP MADE EARLY SEASON!
All SL clubs hate losing to Johnny-Come-Lately's and all rival fans revel in those results. Add visits to new stadia, new visiting fans to welcome into your boozer (unless they less than cram into a Lear Jet from far-flung outposts) etc. etc.
What do they bring to SL? Quite apart from the above, they bring a team and club that is there on merit.... or should be!

Fev didn't lose the play-off game against York, they thumped them for the third time that season.
And as for how much Mark Campbell can afford, I think you'd be surprised. He's consistently opened his own wallet to offset the very meagre Championship budget for 10+ years, in stark contrast to one or two current SL clubs. Don't forget, it's only just over three years ago that his money helped save York!

Have you heard about a relocation in that event? Socially distanced crowds in a 5,000 capacity ground wouldn't allow much of a %age of The Bulls' large following to attend home games. What, therefore, would their fast-tracking bring?

| Quote ="Bent&Bongser"It's a dilemma. The reduced SKY share to the successful candidate (or smuggle in) is obviously disadvantageous but, judging by the number of hats in the ring, Championship chairmen seem to be suspecting the door to be slammed for a period thereafter.
Worst case scenario for the promoted club would be to endure a season's worth of drubbings, absorb the financial shortfall, see disillusioned support drain away, be relegated, replaced by a promoted club, and THEN to hear the drawbridge being hauled up.
Hmmm.'"

I recall that it belongs to Bradford Council. The RFL took the lease only. Useless to all three parties!

| Odsal would swallow up £1 Million just to make the place safe !!! It's a bomb crater with a few porta cabins around it !
Don't get me wrong, always had good positive times with Bradford fans & it's not their fault, but if Mick Gledhill who is a big friend of Big Fat Nige, who in turn is/was at the RLIF & reportedly just left in October *timing* is championing Bradford for 12th spot & if they get it, then it will be the single biggest blatant act of corruption the RFL/SL have ever made since the RFL bought the Odsal lease !!!

| Top flight should have a London team in, think I said it before earlier in the thread.
Simply to stake a claim as a national sport, and so that southerners who like the sport have a focal point/big team they can easily go and watch.
I would love to see Super League expanded to include London, Widnes and Bradford, regardless of how badly that club has been run.

| 520 mile round trip for a truly national Southerner from Truro to 'pop' and watch a game in Ealing - or do only Home County Southerners count in that ramble? Personally have no problem with Broncos, merely debunking.
