Marc Sneyd returning to Salford in 2015 - confirmed. (Albeit forced against his will as he really really loves Cas and really really hates it at Salford

Albeit not a transfer, good news.

Daryl Powell signs a 5 year contract at Cas! Reward for a superb job he's done and a hands off warning to the rest of the league!

Not just good news, fantastic news for Cas, easily your best signing.

Also means if he either does leave to another club you should get a decent payout.

He won't be leaving, he is eager to build something special, and the foundations set this year are a pretty amazing start - He and his coaching team of Danny Orr and Ryan Sheridan, Who I am sure will follow suit with new deals - have got the buzz back in the town and the club, and with a potential move to a new stadium on the horizon in 3 years, we could start to be a regular fixture in finals football.


The only shame about it is that Daryl Clark will leave along with Huby, and Marc Sneyd has been convinced to go back to Salford, he was keen to stay at Cas - despite what Mike says (Not saying he hates Salford, he was just loving his rugby with us) - But a meeting with the Doc has convinced him of a future there.

But, Daryl Powell has worked wonders with non flashy signings so far, so Steve Crossley from Fev, Luke Gale from Bradford, Luke Robinson and Matt Cook may not jump out as superstars, but he will get them working. The other name we have signed I will not hold much hope for - Scott Moore - Wonderful

Some corrections to Cas:

Richard Owen isn't on loan - he's left permanently to Wakey.

Nathan Massey isn't OOC - he's contracted to 2015.

Surely Sneyd is under contract with Salford so doesn't really have a say in the matter.

I wouldn't pay attention to anything any Castleford fans say concerning Marc Sneyd coming back to Salford.

Dr K has announced on twitter that Dobson has signed for 2015. If he is half as good in his spell at Salford as he was at Rovers then the Red Devils have a good halfback for next year.

Can't see it working with Chase, at Rovers Dobbo ran the show, I reckon Chase will get in the way.

I love watching Chase, he does things with the ball that most other players wouldn't even dare to try. But I do wonder whether Salford are going to have to get rid if they really want to be a too side. They are putting a good squad together for next year, the signings they have made so far are miles better than the ones they made last year. However I think Chase is too much of a maverick. Sneyd and Dobson would be better imo.

The problem with Chase is he messes it up by overplaying just as often as he does something good. I said on the Salford forum a while back I'd move Chase back to his original position of #9

Hopefully we(hull fc) will put a transfer bid in for Sneyd

If rumours are true that we've offered Dereau a deal and he can prove his fitness is fully back then he'll be a brilliant signing. Easily one of the best halves in the league. If not I'd like to see us go for Sneyd too, whether he'd be any good in our set us is another matter.

Big news Joel Tompkins signs back at Wigan

Can see Sneyd being targeted by Leeds, their halves are all getting on a bit.

Joel Tomkins was a successful convert, played for England and yet still decided to come back. I wonder if it is making Sam Burgess have a think? Good news for the sport though, always liked Joel as a neutral.

Burgess will be back in League after two season in Union. He'll lose all his skill and be half as good as he is now.

You may be right about him been settled, however, once the top club’s got a sniff, it would always become a bidding war.

It’s going to be an interesting few weeks / months to see how it pans out, I bet his agent is rubbing his hands.

Obviously Cas will put in a bid, maybe Hull, maybe even Leeds or Wigan & Fev, of course
