| Wakey have some really exciting players and wish we'd have kept hold of MCB as he'd score a bucket load of tries in the current Salford team. We've got plenty of power in our backline but miss a real speedster in the centres (althiugh I have to admit Welham has been really good since comjng in). What do Wakey fans think of MCB's all-round game? With the lack of top quality SL centres I thought he may have the potential to be pushing the likes of Watkins & Percival for an England shirt if he can have a couple of injury free seasons.

He's scored some good tries and doesn't shirk the ball returns or tackling.
His hat-trick today was scored from playing on the wing after we lost Tom Johnstone midway through the second half.
Think he's been a good signing so far.

Agree with that. We lost TJ after about 5 mins of the game starting though!

Was it that early? Both halves felt really long today. The second half felt about 50 minutes long.

According to Trinitys twitter feed TJ went off injured after 6 minutes.
The second half did seem to last ages today.

It was certainly first half but imho it was a lot later than 6 mins.

I like him - he carries it in well when needed, great pace and knows how to score tries.
My only problem with him is his defence, which ranges from outstanding 1 on 1 tackles to being slapped aside like he doesn't exist. Usually ok, but definitely an are he needs to improve on if he's looking for rep honours.

Just realised I'd put midway through the second half. Bloody preemptive texting! Although midway through the first half was still out.

Yeah defense was the weaker side of his game when he was at Salford but he did seem to bulk up a reasonable amount last pre-season to aid the physical side of his game. I think you've got a real gem if he works on his defence. As for his pace, I'd love to know who's quicker between MCB & TJ as they're both rapid. Recall Mason hunting down Escare and making a blinding last ditch tackle and very few players catch Jean Capdouze's love child when he makes a clean break!

He's a runner with a decent side step, probably the fastest at the club but is not as good as TJ or BJB who have more options.
Not an International IMHO.

You honestly think BJB is better than MCB? Having seen them both in the flesh I'd take Mason back every day of the week but I thought Ben was a liability under the high ball and despite a decent try scoring record I wasn't too fussed when he left.
I'm not daft enough to think Mason is anywhere near ready enough to be an England starter just yet but, if he can work on his deficiencies, I see no reason why he can't be under consideration in the next 12/18 months. He was strongly linked with Wigan a year or so ago so must have something about him.
Besides, MCB's preferred position is centre and the others are wingers/FB. What other options do England have at centre other than Watkins & Percival?
Shenton - Not convinced at top level
Bateman - Better as a 2nd rower
Cudjoe - see Shenton
Atkins -
Sarginson - Doesn't play enough
Gildart - Good potential but too young

Not yet by any means but he's got the raw attributes to work with. A couple of years development and he could be.

Bish came to Wakey on the understanding that he could play Full back, but we tried him there and he was poor. So moved him out to the wing and he's our most consistent winger I'd say.

He won't give a monkeys chuff as he's neither a Frenchman nor a Catalans supporter.
Chorley John is probably smarting from Wigans thrashing at Cas last weekend.

BJB's finishing has gone to another level this season and his try scoring is right up there with any of the "top" wingers.
MCB has looked really good in parts but, whether it's lack of confidence or, lack of game time, he's not quite there yet.
He has shown some classy touches and there is no doubting his pace.
I guess time will tell but our three quarters all have pace to burn.
Not as destructive as some of the "beasts" that may be at other clubs but, we've scored some reall gem's this season.
BJB's finish in the corner yesterday was another very special finish.
Have a look on the Sky highlights, it's worth it.

Chester said at the start of the season that MCB was quickest over 40m, where as Johnstone was quickest over 100m. BJB and Mazive are also up there with the speedsters. Having watched the Wakey U19s a couple of times, they've got some young lads who look like they're even quicker than the 1st teamers.

Early days, but think Jake Connor could be a really good centre with a good run there, has skill and strength, his defence has been very good in his short time at Hull.

Very early days. He has all the skills to be a real first class centre and I'm looking forward to seeing how he develops, but its a long way away yet.
If he is going to be a great centre I think Radford has to say hes a centre and thats that. ie dont move him as soon as we get an injury in the halves. If theres a bit of an injury crisis and we desperately need him at 6 then thats different, but he looks good at centre and needs a proper run at the position rather than just being seen as a utility.
