Jack Reed is quite a good player. Obviously not in the class of Inglis, Hodges, Jennings and Morris. But he is a great jumping catcher of the high attacking kick -- hence his nickname Jumpin' Jack Reed.

| Wait until Tom Burgess completes his apprenticeship in the reserve team. There will be two Burgess prop freaks (George and Tom) plus a Burgess loose forward freak (Sam), plus a good Burgess prop (named Luke) in Souths team.
Not out of the question to have 4 Burgess brothers in the Souths and England forwards next year -- 3 props and a loose forward.

George Burgess may win the Dally M prop forward medal this year. James Graham may have missed too many games under suspension to compete for the award.
Sam may win the Dally M lock forward medal this year.

Reed is a good player but would you agree his future is probably in the back row?
He's losing pace at a worrying rate.

| Chris Heighington turned in a decent performance yesterday also, do we expect to see him in the squad? For me, he's behind Burgess, O'Loughlin, Westwood, Farrell, Hock and Ellis in the back row pecking order, but who knows with McNamara.
Also, Ben Crookes seems to be firing in the centres at the moment, has a bright future, but the WC may be a year too soon. FC fans will probably be able to towel you more on his development.

Absolutely. He's exceeded my expectations massively this year, can't believe how much he is taking it to such well drilled experienced packs week after week.
He and Graham have to be lining up on the bench for England at the moment (with Graham pulling 60+ mins from the bench like at the Dogs).

Looking forward to seeing James Graham at 8, George at 10 and Sam hopefully at 13 in World Cup later this year.

He plays well off the bench.

| Good to see George kick on. He's also got rid of the amount of lost ball he had whilst playing for the Bears.
Tom is playing for the Bears today. Sheldon may be able to fill you in on how he plays today.

If Ben Crooks continues improving at the rate he has done over the past year then he's going to be an amazing centre. However, I do think that it'll be a year or so before he's ready to be in the internationals but he is definitely a player to watch.
Speaking of prospects coming through Hull atm then Tom Lineham deserves a mention (although York need to get credit here too). He's been better than Briscoe so far this season imo.

I am looking forward to seeing [i Luke Burgess[/i, back to last season's form on return from injury, playing in 8, [iEorl Crabtree [/iin 10, with [iJames Graham [/ireplacing Luke after 17 minutes and [iGeorge Burgess [/ireplacing Eorl after 20 minutes.
[iSam Burgess [/iwill play in 13, behind [iGareth Ellis [/iin 11 and [iBen Westwood [/iin 12, with [iGareth Hock [/i in 16 coming off the bench after 22 minutes.
That will be the best pack that England can field, and one that the Aussies will have many problems with.

I doubt Mossop will be in the first 17, and I wouldn't bet against Peacock making a return. Sinfield is not an international 13, lacks the necessary size and power, it's more likely to be O'Loughlin, but Liam Farrell offers more in attack, and needs to be included somewhere. I agree George B should start on the bench, letting him come on once the pace has dropped a little, same with Hock. I'd go with:
Graham
Roby
Crabtree
Ellis (if fit enough)
Sam Burgess
O'Loughlin/Farrell
Subs
George Burgess
Maybe Peacock, possibly Hill but I don't think his play the ball is quick enough. Could Walmsley make the step up?
Gaz Hock

I've been really impressed whenever I've seen Lineham play. If he keeps his current form right through to the end of the season then he'll certainly be knocking on the door.

What the hell does this have to do with George and Sam Burgess?
The thread is about two of the greatest forwards England has ever produced, players who will be compared in future rankings with Malcolm Reilly and Ellery Hanley. Yet you and a couple of others want to divert the important discussion to the trivia of a Hull winger and a centre ominously named Crooks, who cannot get an NRL contract and bear no relation to the Burgess brothers.

As a Saints fan, I'd obviously pick Roby at 9, but, given he's had a long period out injured, is he under pressure from the likes of Lunt, Clarke and Houghton?
