last time i saw someone do something as blatant as that was Gallagher... the famous all black that signed for Leeds... he fielded the ball... saw someone running at him and jumped on the floor to avoid betting tackled.... he looked perplexed when the ref gave a penalty against him..... obviously its allowed in union.

maybe Tomkins was just practising.

Going to ground yourself is a surrender tackle.

It wasn't a voluntary tackle, therefore not a penalty. HTH.

Ah okay. I'm not well up on all this voluntary tackle/surrender monkey stuff. It's probably been 30 years since I last saw one given at a game.

He didn't fall, he slipped. Bradford tried to con a penalty out of the ref but he wasn't having any of it.

He came out of a tackle at one point, went to play the ball and grimaced with pain. Nearly lost the ball in the process, played the ball and immediately grabbed his shoulder and walked out of the line of attack. I remember 'cause I was sat there saying "****, ****, ****, Sam's injured, did you see that he is injured!" to which my misses said "Yeah I saw it, calm down you look like your going to cry!" and laughed at me... He did however receive and pass the ball in the next play. So yeah, I would say he was carrying an injury at one point, but not sure if it was just a knock and he was ok by the time the second half came around.

I wonder who got the power pack...
