I'd say the justifiable reason is that existing SL clubs would have budgeted based on the full Sky TV money, and will therefore have to already face a financial challenge of a shortfall.
Meanwhile the newly promoted club will have additional money to meet SL and full time status, but won't already have the same fixed commitments to meet as existing SL clubs.
So whilst it doesn't seem 'fair' it does seem 'justifiable'.'" they could also add a relagation free year to at least give them extra time as well

Voted yes but to Newmarket which is equidistant to both clubs where they are now. It’s a 5 minute drive from Cas to Newmarket if that.

I think it best to promote the club who are best set to spend their way to success, because this is what makes Superleague succesfull, rich owners who year after year will put the money in, and year after year is important, no point bringing in a club without money, or a club with money where on relegation the owner decides he wants to take his bat home. Didn't Mr. Beaumont take his bat home when Leigh were relegated last?
More and more it looks like Newcastle.

I'd back this, with an expansion to 14 teams in 2022 as well.

| If we promote one team from the championship it meas we are 1 team short there for next year.
Has anything been propsed for championship format next season?
Do we promote a side from league 1 to fill that gap?

No, after relegation he invested heavily in a squad to bounce back up,but it backfired when we didn't even make the playoffs, hence contracts had to be paid, and we had to start again from scratch. After the £million game, Beaumont did say Catalans need to be in SL. No sour grapes there!

| Not sure if it's already been mentioned, but the team to be accepted into SL will only get £1m of the funding next year ,whereas the other 11 will get £1.8m.
The non-Super League clubs are likely to discover next week the criteria they need to meet to qualify and a tender process will then be set in motion.
A panel compromising representatives of both Super League and the Rugby Football League will be established under an independent chair to scrutinise the bids and make a final decision, probably in early December.
A statement released by both governing bodies said: “Details of the application process for the 12th place in the Betfred Super League in 2021 will be finalised within the next few days, including the timeline for making a decision – which will be made by a committee involving officials from Super League Europe and the RFL and with an independent chair.”
Thursday’s meeting will also consider how to proceed in the event that a club is fast-tracked into Super League from the Championship.

No it was the season after when we failed to make the middle 8's, and we had assembled a very good squad (on paper)

| Could this be a way back into the big time for the Bulls?
Certainly the airport derby could be just the carrot to encourage Sky to backtrack on their reduced deal plans.
All these teams have their own claim, but which team will help the sport explode worldwide once and for all?
I want Leigh.

No they are not. However TRL is part of the newspaper & a conduit to which the RFL & SL gauge fan opinion. TRL has been used several times before by the RFL.to gauge opinion on things like ticket pricing & venues for the World Cup. The RFL.& Super League will take note.

I like this & don't want to rubbish the Fev owner so deleted that part.
Let me tell you all why,.I like it.
I believe that an excellent negotiator could *and should* sell this idea as "Bigger & Better" ! Not for less than the previous deal or for the same as the previous deal, but for more than the previous deal. If Super League & Elstone + the RFL are doing their own negotiations *as I suspect* then the positive way forward is to get rid of the ineffective Elstone & having 2x governing bodies & spend on a World Class marketing & negotiations team to deliver the best deals.
More variety in Clubs & fixtures. More 'Stories' to tell. An end to loop fixtures & boredom of 4 Wigan v Saints derbies etc. Sky get more, more content & more subscribers ! Win - Win !!!
There is absolutely zero ambition or balls in both those boardrooms !

TRL is now an embarrassment, appears that the major posters are probably employed by LE because they spout the same cr ap under ever increasing usernames. They`ve got a remit and will not deviate from this.
