| He's started his Nrl career quite well, he'll play plenty of games next year.
Asotasi, Ross, Geddes, Burgess and one more signing will be the props next year.

George may be ready by then also.
You could have 3 English brothers playing in the same Souths side. Though it'll be down to Maguire next year.He did seem positive in a recent BBC article about them. 3 props or 2 and 1 backrower,

| It would be a strange move to put Sam back in the front row, but Souths do have alot of back rowers in the squad.
Crocker, Pettybourne, Taylor, Lowe, Tyrrell, Clark, Peats, McQueen and Hopefully Sutton all in for 4 or 5 positions.

| Saw Tom play 'live' for Bradford for the first time yesterday, he was the best prop in the game, and he is bloody huge!
Must be nice knowing he can get some SL experience whilst having an NRL deal just a phonecall away...

Give him until the end of next season and he'll want a piece of NRL action to get himself in the England team for 2013.

I had the bradford v cats game on the telly, but only watched it with one eye. However, he did seem to be impressing, scored a tough try in heavy traffic, he's MASSIVE and he's only 14 or something...

considering how quickly our frontline props have declined recently he won't have to go to the NRL to get into the england team

| Luke is turning around this overpaid underachieving team on his own.
Souths really are the pillocks that are replacing the rich buy a team Clubs like Manly, to be the working class buy a team Club (but still not make the playoffs club) with a Rich benefactor with more money than sense Club.
On paper Souths should be in the top four regardless of injuries, on the Accountants books they should be top two.
In reality they will be 9th or 10th at the end of the season.

Looks a different player here

He was playing very well for Leeds in the first half of this year ā just why is he a different player in Australia? (or is it, as I suspect, that any decent Super League player would actually look like a decent player in Australia... because they are just that)

| Thats pretty much it. Luke Burgess isnt in the same class as Graham or Morley/peacock in their hayday or Carvell or his brother or Griffin imo, due to salary cap restrictions and player leakage to other comps/continents, there are some ordinary players in the NRL including... Luke Burgess. Im pleased for the lad though, he's packed his stuff and given it a go but he's got a huge way to go before he's England 17 class

| Tom is still abit raw for me, but isn't far off. He's massive, never put a foot wrong yesterday.
Luke was average over here but I think he'll push on down under and become a top prop around the age of 28/29.

| Its easy being a forward in the NRL, run forward, play the ball, run forward play the ball. If you make an offload now and again they'll think you're a genius. Which is why our forwards do so well over there, they actually have some footballing ability. I love the NRL, but its a myth that it's tougher in every way than SL. Their backs are way better, but most of their forwards are just workhorses.

| Carry on believing that when the Aussie pack steamrollers ours again.
Its true that not all Aussie forwards are world-beaters. Some of the British forwards are just as good (or can be with NRL experience). But the skill levels in the best NRL forwards are way better than 'workhorse' levels. The difference is that they play to a structure in the NRL - daft offloads get punished. Have a look at Ellis for Wests. His offload game is drastically lower than it was for Leeds/Wakey. That's not because he can't do it, but because he knows better than to throw dumb offloads every match.
The other thing the Aussies do is play as a pack. GB/England in recent years have tended to play like a bunch of individuals out to get good stats - making tackles and yardage. But the off-the-ball work is generally non-existent, meaning our backs look even worse than they are.
