| Quote ="nickcat0"Er no....you pointed to games that took place over 60 years ago, when both codes were very different.
The only game played in recent years was Saints v Sale..........2 full time professional outfits, so a fair comparison.
The game was played as one half of RL and one of RU. Each team won their own half by 7 tries to nil........ the only difference was that Sale got one more conversion.
During the RU half, the Saints players were lost in an endless stream of rolling mauls and hardly touched the ball.
As a fan of both codes, I fully accept that in the shared skills, the RL game is light years ahead, but there are too many parts of RU's forward play that are too complex to pick up in a few weeks, months or even years. That's why all the successful RL converts have been backs.'"
Sorry you have already lost.
"Fan of both codes" still works for you Tommie?

Wrong. That was merely the last in a number of matches.

No I just have no idea what you're talking about...........if one code has been doing walk-ups since 1962 , fine. Whatever a walk-up is? I'm not familiar with Aussie slang.

So you agree with me that each team would win their own code, the RU with kicks and the RL with tries.

i think its hilarious that youve admitted the only way the wallabies could possibly beat the kangaroos is solely at penalty goals and nothing else.
what happens if their goal kicker has on off day?
for me everytime there would be a loose ball one of our backs would pick it up and score. wed beat them them at the slow version of rugby and at proper rugby

| Try reading slowly.
To repeat for the impaired:-
1. The last time an Australian rugby union player crossed codes and made the Kangaroos inside a year was Jim Lisle in 1962.
2. The last time an Australian rugby league player crossed codes and made the Wallabies inside a year was when?
See if you can figure it out.
Hint - there have been a few more than zero in going from rugby league to union since 1962...

| BTW, Lisle only made it in the 3rd Test because we were already down 2 Tests out of 2 in the 1962 series vs The Lions.

| The only thing good about union is,is actually the crowd that have some sort of involvment in the game. They probably touch the ball more then the actual players!
Apparently, if you put everything in perspective in a union game there's about 10 minutes of running,30 min of kicking,30 min in the scrum,so that leaves 10 min of lineouts? YAWN!
In comparison,to RL there's 80 minutes of non stop action.
In other words RL leaves union for dead!

| Unless, like me, you enjoy the battle of the scrums.
I also enjoy watching a fine piece of maul and/or ruck work, but you don't seem to have mentioned that in your breakdown of the 80 minutes.

| Rugby union isn't a patch on rugby league. I've played both codes and league wins hands down. Union is so slow and boring where league is fast and furious. I can't understand why people over here I the UK prefer union. The only thing they can do is kick goals and they get excited!!!! Sod that, I want to see some slick plays and hard bone crunching tackles.
Rugby league stuggles over here because of the popularity of football, which in my opinion is so overrated. Football bores me to death these zzzz

| No ones debating the entertainment value Rally.
Simply the fact the kangaroos could beat the wallies at union when ALL evidence points in the opposite direction.
Plonkers can't be told

| Well I'm my opinion I can't see the kangeroo forwards wanting to get involved in rucks and mauls. Without the forwards setting the platform for their backs, the backs won't have much time on the ball and have no space to create chances luke they do in rugby league.

| The only place the union boys would have any joy is in the scrum, ruck and maul. Union forwards are generally bigger and stronger than League forwards.

yet when 2 of their forwards played league they couldnt handle the sport.
yeah, those fat lazy c***ts sure would give our forwards a lot of trouble
theyd eat all the food in the functions beforehand leaving the real rugby players with nuthin

Out of interest. Do you know how much time on average the ball is not in play in a game of League? You may be surprised.

| I'd hazard a guess at union - 52 minutes league 66 minutes?
Suprise us Rooster!
Dally's last comments prove once and for all that me and catty are right on this one; Union forwards haven't been remotely fat for 15 years other than the odd prop here and there, no different than Riddell

matt dunning.
2 wallaby forwards failed to make it in the NRL
the kangaroo forwards are the best in the nrl.
follow the logic.
roos > NRL > wallabies

| there was a test match a few years back in union.
the time in play was something like 40 - 45 minutes.
of that, 8 minutes was the time the ball was in the air from all the kicks.
