Leigh have been playing fantastic and are putting points against teams, but I don't expect no shock result. Leeds by 30+

Eagles were 15 unbeaten last year and we couldn't beat London Broncos at home. On that basis i'd say Leigh will get thrashed.

If Leigh manage to get into double figures and Leeds don't hit the half-century then I won't be too disappointed not to get the chance to beat W*&%$ in the semi.



Let's be honest, winning 16 on the bounce in the Championship is no use at all when playing the Top 4 of SL, whether they bring their best form or not. But the fans will make themselves heard and have some fun regardless...

Exactly, get yourselves to the Skyrack before the game if you've got chance (shame it's a Friday night and not on a Saturday or Sunday!). Leigh will put up a good show (don't take my score prediction as disrespecting Leigh, it's not. It's just I think the gap between top of SL and the Championship including many part time players is huge).

Be nice to see Brierley in open field / give Leeds a headache. 40-6 .

I was going to say it will be quite close but looking at the squad we have named its hard to not see us getting over 40 points at home and dont see Leigh getting more than a couple of tries.

Great chance and opportunity though for Leigh and their fans and im sure they will have a real go and enjoy themselves whatever the outcome.

If leeds are mentally switched on they will take leigh apart, i expect a tough first 15 or so then it should be leeds by 30+

The gulf between SL & the lower leagues is much bigger than you think. Having seen my side trounce every single NL1 side and then move back to SL and get tonked every week (with a similar side), it's hard to see anything but a very convincing victory for Leeds. I'd love to be wrong though.

I'll be happy if we keep Leeds below 50 and score a couple of tries ourselves. There is a wide gulf between top of SL and top of Champs so can't see anything other than an easy Leeds victory. Hope I'm wrong though

A hurting Leeds away on a workday is a big ask for a part time player - yes, we are all part time RL players at Leigh - it will be a great experience for our very young side and I expect us to throw the ball about and have a great time. They wont roll over but Leeds will be too big and fit for us, with a scoreline that reflects that.
I predict both sets of fans and players will enjoy the game.

For Leeds that is quite a poor crowd. It's roughly the equivalent of Leigh getting a crowd of about 800.

Could you clarify whether it will be appalling because Leeds fans won't turn up when they could/should or is it appalling because the "lower orders" simply shouldn't be allowed to play in the last 8 of the Challenge Cup?

If I had to guess I'd go for something between 7-8k.

Which, whilst I understand some of the reasons for it (not on season ticket being the biggest factor in my opinion) and that cup games always get lower crowds (Cup 2014 v St Helens = 12,194 compared to SL 2013 v St Helens = 15,99icon_cool.gif, I still find the low cup crowds poor, and both the RFL and the clubs need to find ways of getting more people in.

IIRC our average crowd is approx 15k. So it's disappointing to only get about half that.

Leeds Saints in the last round drew a decent 12k.
Leeds vs ANY Championship club doesn't have quite the same ring, especially at £17+ for a ticket.
I hope it's a good game but i'll be watching on Sky and saving my cash for next Thursday's match vs Hudds.

it will be appalling because people dont want to watch it. There is no blame, it is what it is. Relatively few people want to watch.
