Ahead of this years showpiece at Wembley, what was the first Cup Final you went to, whether at Wembley or elsewhere.

Mine was Hull KR's classic 10-5 win over Hull FC back in 1980 at Wembley. Great day. Great memories.


To this day, Hull FC have yet to register a win at the national stadium.


I'm sure many other RL fans have top memories of Cup Finals they attended, be it with their own side or even as neutrals.

Even though I am a Leigh fan, my Mum & Dad hail from Widnes. My 1st final was at Wembley in 1975 for Widnes v Warrington. I was only 10 years old at the time , but unfortunately I wore a Widnes scarf at the game....and it has 'scarred me for life' !

1978 Leeds v Saints. The first and last Challenge Cup Final my dad took me to as he died in December that year. Some great memories of the day though.

1974 Wire v Fev - magical day, still think the old Wembley had a better atmosphere than the new.

'68 - "Watersplash Final". Never a penalty try in a month of Sundays. I'm still traumatised.

2005 hull v leeds at Cardiff great game

1994 vs Wigan. stood right in front of Offiah after he scored THE iconic try. Still my favourite final despite the defeat.

2003 Leeds vs Bradford in Cardiff.

Went onto see Leeds lose again in 2005, 2010, 2011, 2012. Fair to say it has been pretty sole destroying. Leeds year was an unreal feeling getting the first win. The nerves are jangling today with the fear of another loss at Wembley. Head says nothing to worry about, heart is nervous.

1999 vs London. Loved it.

1996 Saints v Bradford - Robbie's hattrick and Bobbie's bombs!

'94 was my first. '96 is still the best I've been to, despite the loss.

2011: Wigan Warriors 28-18 Leeds Rhinos

The injustice in that game spurred Leeds to turn their lackluster season right around and win in the Grand Final. Still Wigan scored one of the best Wembley tries of the super league era with Joel Tomkins.

1985 school trip Hull v Wigan great game and great result

1991 Challenge Cup final, St Helens V Wigan at the old Wembley. A narrow 13-8 defeat.

An abysmal first half showing from Saints against a tired and off colour Wigan side cost us big time.

the '96 classic, my mum won a pair of tickets on "the pulse" radio station so me and my sister went.
my dad was a coach driver taking some bully's down so we jumped on the coach with them

I should know for sure, but can't be certain! Probably Wigan/Saints in 1989.

That's what you get for walking there and back.

Continually vowed that I won't go to a Challenge Cup Final (or even the 'new' Wembley) until Leigh get there. One day...

1987 when Fax beat St. Helens19-18

Womens Rugby League Challenge Cup Final, Hilton Park - 1995 if I had to guess. Can't remember who was in it but I was bored to tears that day (no atmosphere)

Wigan v Saints at Murrayfield 2002, brilliant game and result considering no one gave us a chance and it had been 7 years since our last cup. Kris Radlinski was incredible.

64, Hull K R v Widnes

1965 Wigan v Hull. I was 2 months short of my 15th birthday. I got bitten, badly, by the Rugby League bug (thankfully)!
