Its just a little too early for Briscoe. You have to remember that it was Greg Inglas running at him. He will be a good one for the future.

Defensively, Bridge has been one of the most consistent players all season. More than what can be said half the squad last Saturday in the first 40.

| Peacock in the second row again? Prepare for the same five drives and a kick gameplan that lit up the first half against the Aussies then.

Glad to see eastmond in the halfs, fox i'm not sure about, very good season for the most part but has had some blunders in defence that could cost us at this level. Dont think peacock should be in the 2nd row, should be playing prop with burgess replacing him there.
As for chris bridge, i'm not so sure but he is a better option than playing a winger there, its time for him to stand up and be counted, i for one will be cheering him (and the rest of them) on with all my heart on sat.

| Would of had Graham on the bench with Peacock back at prop and Burgess in the back row. Briscoe at 2 over Fox, and Carvell instead of Crabtree, Wilkin or Westwood.
Only Sykes from the squad not used now (I think).

| Much better IMO. Would prefer Peacock propping. Wilkin is not big enough & is full of himself when Saints are demolishing smaller opposition.

| I'd have put Ellis in one of the centre spots and brought Carvell in to sub prop and start Burgess second row.
Our backs are tpo inexperienced and it has showed this tournament. I think they go do with experience in there and Ellis clearly has that in abundance.

Three props in the starting line up and three on the bench?
The Kiwis might be big, but they're very mobile. You need people who can get around the park and not get exposed by good footwork.

He should, 3rd game, 3rd different half-back combination.
He's useless at club level unless he has superstars, why he ever got the national coaching job is beyond me.

| I'd say he's got it about right but I agree on Peacock not starting in the second row. Would rather Moz come off the bench and Burgess start.
Sinfields kicking game is going to have to be absolutely top notch on Saturday. As good as Eastmond and Tomkins are individually, neither can be descirbed as great tacticians with the boot as yet.
Really looking forward to it.

My concern is not that they will dance round wilkin though, rather that they would run through him.

Can't say I've noticed him be a defensive liability at Saints, and there are plenty of big forwards in SL.
Not sure why people are advocating shifting probably the best second rower England have out into the centres though. Exactly how much ball to Shenton and Smith/Eastmond see on Saturday? Moving Ellis out there takes him out of the game.

Gilder is right. Wilkin is a common sense inclusion. We need some sort of mobility in the pack and I can't see Wilkin getting rolled over when you consider he is a 40 tackle a match man. Only concern is that I think Wilkin has put off having a knee op to play the four nations.
Also think JJB would do a good job, but isn't there so you have to work with the tools you have. Other than over critical fans, and the minoroty of Saints fans who are still disappointed Wilkin was not the next Sculthorpe, I think it is a decent selection.
Bridge is a fair selection as well. lets see what he can do before castigating him.

That is the huge problem, all of the people who should have been potential England managers by now have fallen by the wayside.
Gregory
Hanley
Harrison
Edwards is in Union, so isn't an option.
The RFL/SL have to take a lot of blame for failing to develop UK coaching beyond amateur level, look around SL, you've got Agar, Kear, Noble, Sharp, none of which are fit to be international coach.
The rot started with Waite, and it's set in for good now unless there is a majr shake up.
