Could they? If they finish in the top 5, they "could". It's a possibility.

Will they? That's a different question, as they are nowhere near certain for the top 5, let alone beat bigger, better resourced clubs, at the business end of the season.

However this could be their first step on the road toward being in those kind of games which, if they can keep a nucleus of their squad together, could bear fruit in future seasons.

One thing we have got, as shown with the win against Leeds and the comebacks against Warrington and Cas is an unbelievable team spirit...something I've not seen in a very long time as a Trinity fan...there's a real togetherness and that counts for a lot...as it did when Leicester City won the Premiership against all the odds the other year...

We're doing it tough at present but if we can hang in there in might turn out to be a blessing in disguise as a lot of our better players will be a lot fresher for the back end of the season....on our day if at full strength I honestly believe we can beat anyone...

What happens if we get near the business end and Saints or Warrington...or both encounter an injury problem like we have at the moment and we were at full strength?

Next 3 games all away will be a good indicator.

Win 2 of them and lots of players to come back in the season, they can't be ruled out.

Finish in top 5 and they have more chance than the bottom 7 and that is a 100% certainty.

Don't see why not. P1ssing down September night would be a leveller and both this year's star acts have recent history of not living up to the favourites tag. Not likely but far from impossible. Whether they'd become rabbits in the headlights if they did make the big stage is a moot point.

It would be a fantastic achievement from a club that is cutting its cloth accordingly and that has built a very adept squad with few stars but who play collectively. They do have an Achilles heel though, i that if you run them wide, their pack does tire quickly and I thin the summer months will be a real test for them.....but I'd say they are pretty safe for a top 5 finish.

Will they - who knows, it's only April and none of the 12 teams are even guaranteed a spot in the top 5 just yet

Technically - yes; in reality - probably not; but for a club that has managed its way prudently out of a serious financial crisis, and put together a stable squad that includes some players who would walk into any side in SL, we're doing ok - probably better than 99% of predictions for the season would have suggested.

There's very little hubris in evidence on the WT board - supporters seem, in the main, to be cautiously optimistic, and happy with each win as it comes.

Never understood this no star bit. Some were not stars when they signed but they sure are now.
Johnstone, Fifita, Tupou and Ashurst would get in any SL team. Miller, Lyne, BJB, Hampshire, Arundal, Batchelor, Arona, Kopzac and Brough would get in most. The rest right up to about no26 would get in a fair few SL teams.

Plenty of strength in depth combined with more star players than many SL teams, only Saints, Wire and Leeds (technically) have more 'stars'.

Its a bit of a myth and a touch condecending imo, how they have managed this on such a low budget I admit remains a mystery.

Can they do it? If they start to get lucky on the injury front and players return fully fit sooner rather than later then they have an outside chance though big match experience will be an issue.

Think back to 2017 - had it not been for a Grix brainfart against Saints, we'd have got the experience of a semi-final under our belt for certain. And the way we were playing, I'd have backed us to win at Cas in that semi-final.

This is a mirror conversation to the one about London going down. Will London go down? Probably. Is it great that they are making a good fight of it? Yes absolutely.

Will Wakey win the grand final? No probably not. Is it good that another team is in the mix? Yes of course.

Their away form will rule out a top 5 finish. Definitely top 8 though.

Nearly 25 years of Superleague and still only 4 names appeared on the trophy. Even more telling only 7 clubs have appeared in the grand final out of 22 current and former super league clubs.

The competition is crying out for some new blood at the top table.

I'm sorry and I know its hypothetical but you had a chance in August 17 to ruin our night by preventing us winning the LLS against you, you came to play that night but we still dispatched of you with relative ease so I really don't think we'd have lost the play off semi to Wakefield. Saints still had plenty of experience and talent in that side and gave us a lesson on play off rugby. We got the lesson and luckily came through it but then lost our best player 48 hours before and the rest is history.

Whats wrong with our away form? Only played 4 away games, won 2, hardly poor.
