A lot of big stadia announced. Need to get selling tickets fast. What do you feel about locations?

There’ll be those that berate WC2021 for focusing on northern England but, presumably, the locations reflect the towns and cities that actually put in bids. Good venues imo. Happy to recognise places like York, Newcastle, Workington etc but we definitely need to get them sold out.

Some good locations and some big stadiums to fill. Get the tickets on sale.

But for me, the key is pricing. If they priced it at £20 a ticket for example, I could easily put aside £200 for this World Cup and get to 10 games. If they price it at £50 a ticket, then I'll only get to a few games.

The government funding was contingent on the venues being mostly in the north, but I think the mix of venues is about right.

Middlesbrough is a bit left-field but we've clearly gone for some quality venues, alongside some of traditional club grounds.

I think the draw will be important and ensuring that the right grounds get the right games, but there's not too much to complain about at the moment.

The positive thing is that that there is an attempt to expand boundaries incrementally - Liverpool, Sheffield, NE and to bolster York and Cumbria. Also recognises London’s pivotal role from a media and grassroots perspective and gives a boost to development efforts in Coventry. I hope bidding towns and cities have underwriters costs and will be marketing / selling tickets. If the dream comes true and all venues are pre-sold put it will be fantastic. The time to sell tickets is now onwards and we don’t want to dream to be come a nightmare.

Just a quick note on the presentation...I thought it was excellent. Helen Skelton was great, and the guests all provided great insight and a perception that this is an all inclusive sport, and a big deal. Very impressed by it

I agree that one game in Coventry and one in London isn't good enough. How about Bristol as well.

A world cup in England with 21 venues should have a much wider geographical reach than this one does.

Wigan Athletic are playing Yeovil three weeks after, so the DW is unavailable.

Good stadia chosen. Disappointed only two games south of Sheffield though. Will definitely go to the semi at the Emirates.

Think it’s a good list. Could’ve gone to Bristol again but not even sure if they were interested this time. Middlesbrough isn’t one I was expecting and might be the toughest to get a good crowd at depending what fixture it gets especially with the North East having the more attractive opening ceremony at Newcastle.

By 2021 The Broncos will be back in the championship and we can remove London from the RL landscape, perfect for the northern parochial's.

Appreciate the Sport England grant but France need to play some games there where they will get much bigger crowds.

The plan might be to give Middlesborough the rd group game, which will hopefully give time to sell tickets following a successful opening game that people love at SJP

Not a pop at you but we should be aiming to attract people who would pay £50 a match & more. Do we expect to watch worlds best League players to knock each other to pieces for less than a round of drinks down the pub?

I agree with this but the RFL have made a rod for their own back with pricing. They in the past allow themselves to try and win the race to the bottom so in essence many now expect to get tickets for cheap.

Once you devalue the product its then difficult to get it back up. The RFL need to be strong here and promote and market this at the world cup where you watch the elite so you pay for the privilege.

Last night there was a programme about a lad called Max with severe epilepsy and his parents' (who are apparently the 'posh' couple from Gogglebox) investigation into whether cannaboid oil may help reduce sizures. Max is obsessed with all sports but seemed to particularly like RL as during the programme he wore a Leeds Rhinos shirt, at least two Bradford Bulls shirts, a HuddesrfieldGiants one and a Catalans Dragons one (that I noticed). RFL / World Cup organiers should invite him and his family to matches (good PR and a nice thing to do) - Arsenal one at least as they appear to live in Kent.

The one negative about this mornings' annoucement show was to see Sadiq Khan on it. Enough to put me off going to the Emirates!

Think the choice of venues are excellent and it sounds like the WC is going to be a slick organisation. On there only being 1 game in London, I don't think it's a bad strategy. Having one game and selling out the Emirates will be better than having 5 games and not getting many people there. Starting at Newcastle is brilliant. A lot of tickets to sell, but it looks like this tournament is well planned and certainly has a lot of ambition with games at Old Trafford, St. James Park, Annfield, Emirates, Middlesbrough FC. It feels like an event.

Should be getting schools and amateur clubs to organise trips now.

Get the cheap tickets sold as quickly as possible to groups.

Will add both bums on seats and atmosphere.

Basic supply and demand means people are happy to pay higher prices if there is a danger they will miss out.
