I'm gonna miss Thursday night games however. Suits my work and I like my RL as early as Thursday. Don't have to wait as long.

Good news. Thursday not good for families as children have school the following day.

Ah well. at least they are making the change before people finally give up going to watch live games.
Thursdays have been a disaster for RL.
Quite frankly, the sport is just not big enough to play games on a Thursday, to anything like a full house and it's becoming embarrassing.

Plus the way that games are spread out between Thursday, Friday Saturday and Sunday is reducing demand for season tickets, with fans knowing that they will inevitably have to miss some games.

Great fro the armchair viewers (which suits Sky) but, not good for the paying spectators.

Sincerely hope this is true , Sat tea time would suit us best as we would generally get the 2 nd TV fixture , so I'd make that our regular home kick off time

Good news all round, nobody likes these games, if we did have midweek games Wednesday would be better

If true I'd be delighted, like most people. For the armchair fans, there is often an NRL game to watch on Premier when I get home from work on Thursday evenings, so that will do me fine. Being a long way away, Fridays aren't ideal for me either, but they are doable for some games, whereas Thursdays are a dead loss. And of course it's good news for all you guys who live locally, so should improve our gates.

standard rl fans complaining, other sports are on Monday/thursday, don't hear darts or football fans complaining for example. Couldn't give a hoot what night games are, for some there is always an excuse not to go

Forgetting the fans issues , from a playing point RL is far more physically demanding than football , let alone Darts ( seriously ) and recovery times much more critical to follow on performances

So having all the games played within a 43 hour ' window ' each weekend will make for a more even competitive and entertaining spectical

If part of that helps attendance by fans then that is also a good thing

Darts? seriously??

It's funny because Sky take darts a lot more seriously than RL. Darts usually pushes us to Sky Sports 2 or 3 on a Thursday during their season.

Should start showing the championship once a week. Some quality games this season

But, and i am generalising here, people who go to darts, are mainly young people wanting to go and get smashed and have a good time, so they most likely book the next day or 2 off work and stay over in order to do this, most probably don't give a hoot about the actual darts.

Wheres RL fans tend to travel to watch the game then travel home, totally different demographics, so you can't really compare the two.
