| Brown, who is in his fourth season in Super League and will take over at St Helens next year, was scathing of McNamara's decision to give New Zealand-born stand-off Rangi Chase his England cap in last year's Four Nations Series.
And he is equally critical of the call-up of Catalan Dragons' Australia-raised hooker Ian Henderson for this year's internationals, especially at the expense of in-form Giants hooker Luke Robinson.
Although Henderson was born in Torquay and represented Scotland in the 2008 World Cup after qualifying through his Glasgow-born father, Brown is adamant that he should not play for England.
He said: "If something looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's a duck, isn't it?
"He looks Aussie and talks Aussie so I suppose he is an Aussie."

I read it. What a stupid thing to say.

| Brown is right about Chase and wrong regarding Henderson.
Henderson was born in England and who can a man the right to play for the country of his birth?

So you don't think Brough should be allowed to play for England?

No. I think once you commit to a Country then you shouldn't be allowed to change.
Yes I know the Aussies and Kiwis do it, but that doesn't make it right.

But that's an entirely different reason to the fact that he has an Aussie accent.

He makes a stupid point in a stupid way. Henderson was born here - that gives him every right to call himself English and to represent England.

| What he says is almost spot on.
It makes me cringe when sportsmen (and women) change their nationality on a whim, to try and chas international honours.
Although legally, people can change their nationality based on residency rules, I think sport goes deeper than that.
You are born where you are born and that is the only country that you should be able to represent, or in simple tems, the place of birth on your birth certificate.

| Personally i've always thought eligability rules should be
1. Born in country
2. Parent(s) born in country
3. Grandparent(s) born in country
4. The country you played your very first, first grade rugby in. (eg Harrison Hansen if he hadn't have chosen to rep down under).
In a nutshell rules that stop you playing for England
1. Born in another country to parents and grand parents that were not born in England and playing your very first 1st grade game anywhere other than England AND IF YOU HAVE PLAYED FOR ANY OTHER INTERNATIONAL TEAM BEFORE ENGLAND.
Henderson, Bridge, Brough etc shouldn't be in the England team, Heighington and Widdop no problem.
Rangi 'i want to play for NZ' Chase...foooook off

| Bring back Gt Britain!
Whilst I don't disagree with him I think the days of any sport just picking players born, bred and lived all their lives in one country are long gone. Every country in every sport is looking to be succesful and pick players that will achieve that, regardless of the wooly criteria they come up with to make them fit.
Australia has the biggest and strongest RL pool of players in the world yet they still feel the need to pick Kiwis and fijians, what's good for the goose (or duck!) and all that.

parents and grand parents birthplace should come into play also. No sportsman should be forced to represent the country they were born in.
regarding henderson, why is Brown not bothered that he already played for scotland?
That is the issue that needs to be addressed here. The switching of nations at a whim is a joke!

Well if they were born or parents/grand parents were born in either country then although it looks strange that should not be a problem.
